- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I love the characters wit and charm. Ms. Frost bring to life a light-hearted paranormal mystery/romance. She is on of my favorite writers because of the joy I feel when I read her work. Love the cat !!!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Love this series so far!
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5When I took this book out of the library I did not realize that it was part of a series. That being said, you really don't need to read the first book to follow the second one. All of the accidents from the prior novel are referred to in enough detail that you can get by without reading it. (I do still plan on eventually going back and reading the first one though.) There is lots of action, adventure and comedy in this book, but there is not really a lot of depth to it. This might be because of things I missed from the first book and things that are going to occur in the next book, though. Characters change however you don't really see them evolve; the changes just kind of happen. The characters all seem really interesting and I would really like to see more of their development and changes first hand.
Also on a totally seperate note I love the cover art for this book and the previous one in the series. I hope they keep it up. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5A fun book, that didn't get boring, and had some pretty good unexpected turns.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Tammy Joe Trask is back for more trouble and more people / creatures trying to kill her. At the end of Would-Be Witch, Tammy Jo has finally came into powers, well... sort of, she was successful in giving her arch nemesis, Jenna, a hiccup hex. But after a week of uneventful days and night she received a letter from the World Association of Magic. Apparently our resident handsome wizard and lawyer Bryn Lyons was found at fault by siding and casting spells along side Tammy Jo and the authorities found her guilty and/or dangerous therefore has summoned her to do a challenge to basically defend her life. To make it look fair, they have sent in a British guy named Jonathan and a fire trigger happy, and her Aunt's ex-lover named Incendio to teach her. But is that really their purpose? To prepare for this training Tammy Joe decided to cast a spell and ask for earth's power only to unleash an armageddon. Thus slightly opening the door of the Never (faery world) unleashing hobgoblins, nasty changeling, horticulture horrors and pixie dust covering her town trapping them inside. As usual Tammy Jo was running around town dodging murderous wizard, sleazebag neighbors and saving the day. I am so happy that Bryn and her are getting really close. There are a lot of significant situations in this book that will probably lead them into teaming up more. Aside from all the chaos they both discovered that they are half witch half something else. It explains a lot about why Tammy Jo's magic is all wonky and how her and Bryn survived a sure death scene. And at last... Zach has finally came in to terms that Tammy Jo's claim of magic, ghost and everything else. And he is about to make up for ever doubting her and thinking she's a bit crazy by going into training, so he could protect her more. I am seriously torn on who is the best man for Tammy Jo, they both have excellent qualities and infuriating flaws, it is hard to predict at this point on who is she going to end up with. This series is getting really exciting. I can't wait for Halfway Hexed! Umm... when is it coming out anyway?
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5funny! Tammy Jo is snarky, fun and really seems to have a lot of problems trying to control her magic. Last time, it involved some werewolves.....hmmmm. Well, now it seems that WAM has taken an interest in her and she needs to prepare for her witchly challenge thingy they want her to do to become a part of them. But meeting the people that are to train her and of course, her distraction with Bryn, well, some things just can't be helped. Lots going on in this book and Tammy doesn't know who she can trust and who she can't. According to her family, she is supposed to stay away from Bryn, but damn her hormones when it comes to him. Then there is her ex-husband Zach, who seems to always be around and he doesn't believe a word of what she says about the supernatural. He seems to think that she's just going off the deep bend.Well, we'll put it this way, Tammy Jo is a lot more special than she orginally thought, having a very unusual background and heritage. Then Bryn seems to have a lot more to him than meets the eye too! This book involved lots of fae folk, wizards, and of course, Tammy's trusted furry friend, Mercutio, the Ocelot cat! It's Tammy's time to try to fix the mess that she made by spreading some Faery dust into the town and everyone's gone crazy! But with the help of some friends (or rather, are they friends?) will she save everyone? This book was a lot of fun to read and I certainly hope there is going to be more with Tammy Jo! If you like witches and wizards and lots of interesting characters, well, I suggest that you give this series a try. It really earned it's four skull rating!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Just finished reading this book and I enjoyed every minute of it! There were times that I just wanted to shake Tammy Jo, but at the same time she's charming character. I enjoy reading all of her mishaps and the love triangle she's in. I can't wait to get my hands on the third installment of this series when it comes out..hopefully I won't have to wait to long.
