      It's hard to decide which is worse, the narrator or the book itself. The only thing that works well in this production is that the writing and narration fit together like a glove.

      A superb story, written by a master. The characters and settings are fascinating and distinct. And Will Patton's reading is exemplary in every way.

      Nobody does it better than James Lee Burke! Superb writing- developed characters and amazing plot lines. If you enjoy good mysteries, any JLB book is an excellent choice.

      I tried to get through this three different times. I finally threw in the towel, despite the fantastic reviews.
      It felt bleak, depressing, and slow to me.
