About this audiobook

The fairy-tale charm and emotional depth of ELLA ENCHANTED meets the fully developed fantasy world of Harry Potter in this wonderful older middle-grade retelling of Rapunzel.

In all of Tyme, from the Redlands to the Grey, no one is as lucky as Rapunzel. She lives in a magic tower that obeys her every wish; she reads wonderful books starring herself as the heroine; her hair is the longest, most glorious thing in the world. And she knows this because Witch tells her so--her beloved Witch, who protects her from evil princes, the dangerous ground under the tower, even unhappy thoughts. Rapunzel can't imagine any other life.

Then a thief named Jack climbs into her room to steal one of her enchanted roses. He's the first person Rapunzel's ever met who isn't completely charmed by her (well, the first person she's met at all, really), and he is infuriating--especially when he hints that Witch isn't telling her the whole truth. Driven by anger at Jack and her own nameless fears, Rapunzel descends to the ground for the first time, and finds a world filled with more peril than Witch promised...and more beauty, wonder, and adventure than she could have dreamed.

I'm giving this book five perfect stars for changing my perspective about Rapunzel's situation.

You see.. I love Rapunzel, as evidenced by my never-changing profile picture. She has a special place in my fiction world, so please understand if I'm a bit overprotective of her.

In this book, she went from being a nauseatingly closed minded witch loyalist to a young lady with hopes and dreams, ready to face the world WITH BOTH EYES OPEN. I love that. I love how fiction found a little space for realism. I mean, let's be real.. You can't unlove a person in just one click. It's kind of the same as with the fact that you can't marry a man you just met (Thank you, Elsa.).

Yes, this book makes you want to strangle Rapunzel with her own hair because of her almost-unwavering loyalty to the witch, but it also makes you think outside the box. Seriously, what you really do if one day they told you that a person you valued your entire life is a bad person?

Anyway, I also love how Jack was present in almost all of the scenes. I think it makes sense that they're paired up. smile emoticon The story is magnificently woven.

I enjoyed reading about Rapunzel's mishaps and victories! I love it!

**My review also appears on Goodreads. :)

Amazing retelling of Rapunzel!! My little sister and I listened together. I loved the deep and thoughtful inner growth of the characters, the humor, seriousness, and it was read beautifully. This story really expands on the shallow, typical fairytale and makes it relatable and more realistic in that sense. Highly recommend!!

Megan Morrison is able to take a simple moral and breath life and humanity into classic fairytale archetypes. If you enjoy ABC’s Once Upon a Time, you’ll love the way Morrison makes this timeless tale relevant to life today.

    Surprisingly-good-and-very-well-written. The-story-will-hold-your-interest-from-beginning-to-end-and-it-doesn’t-leave-any-unanswered-questions. I-found-no-plot-holes-or-unrealistic-scenarios-like-many-other-books-of-this-genre. I-would-highly-recommend-this-story-for-both-kids-and-adults.

I love this book bc it's a amazing series of books I love how Rapunzel can be a little funny all tho she can be very stubborn. I love this book bc its really cool and read amazingly . Rapunzel and Jack are on a adventure with a bunch of twists and turns and it's a really heartfelt story. It can sometimes be safe but I highly recommend this book to anyone who reads this (yes I mean you people) Rapunzel can be snappy but she is really smart so please please please read this book! One more thing, the characters of the story are all very nice, I also like how when you meet a new character the author does a amazing job at telling you what they look like! Also have a good day/night thanks for reading ?

I loved the narrator, she did great! Just didn’t really enjoy the story. It was so different than the story we have heard, which sometimes can be a good thing. Story was good overall but I just didn’t love it

My favorite part of this book is the beginning. Like how Rapunzel described all the things that she saw in her tower and how she never wanted to leave, but then Jack came and he tried to change her mind but it dident.

I love this book so much! It’s my absolute favorite of all time. It’s a book about loss, and how there can be so much more beyond what you are used to being in. It’s shows how life is worth living.
