About this audiobook
“The Trunchbull” is no match for Matilda!
Matilda is a sweet, exceptional young girl, but her parents think she’s just a nuisance. She expects school to be different but there she has to face Miss Trunchbull, a kid-hating terror of a headmistress. When Matilda is attacked by the Trunchbull she suddenly discovers she has a remarkable power with which to fight back. It’ll take a superhuman genius to give Miss Trunchbull what she deserves and Matilda may be just the one to do it!
Roald Dahl

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5A great story; I love it! Kate Winslet is the best reader ever. Give it a listen; you will be so glad you did. I laughed the entire time. Good prevails, evil is vanquished everything is put to rights in the end. Who could ask for anything more?
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This is a fantastic story, brought to life in an amazing way by the talented Kate Winslet. It is exactly the right length for a rainy Saturday afternoon while snuggling, cooking and doing art with your kids. The story of Matilda is a fascinating look at a child genius with "special powers" who has a way of making the world right for those around her. One note - the voices of some of the adults who are the "bad guys" feel like abusive neighbors yelling next door. There is no profanity but due to Kate Winslet's amazing repertoire the voices are intense and could be upsetting for little ones under 6. We loved this so much we listened to it a second time today and I have also recommended our daughter's first grade teacher read it for fun. Fantastic audio book.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5As usual, Roald Dahl enchants us with the vision of setting wrong to right and bringing justice to the world. Every child's dream comes true in this story-- the young heroine is a genius, the bullies are flattened, the longing of the heart is fulfilled--all because of a superpower! But the real superpower in this story is love: the love of children, the love of justice, and the love of individuals for each other. And the audio version is stupendous! Kate Winslet gives an absolutely splendid performance.
