Although the premise is good, the execution is poor. He uses visuals to help you remember the words and their meaning. This is good. He also puts the words against a story background - this was novel and entertaining. How the book fails is in its speed of delivering new words - it is too fast. You've barely had time to assimilate five new words when he gives you another five and another. And there isn't enough repetition of each word to help you remember. This book is fine for someone wishes to refresh his memory of Japanese, but insufficient for a new learner.
