About this audiobook

Samantha is a high-powered lawyer in London. She works all hours, has no home life, and cares only about getting a partnership. She thrives on the pressure and adrenalin.
Until one day... she makes a mistake. A mistake so huge it'll wreck her career. She goes into meltdown, walks right out of the office, gets on the first train she sees, and finds herself in the middle of nowhere. Asking for directions at a big, beautiful house, she is mistaken for the interviewee housekeeper and finds herself being offered the job.
They have no idea they've hired a Cambridge-educated lawyer with an IQ of 158 - and Samantha has no idea how to work the oven...

I was set to give this book a five star until the end. The author spent so much time on Samantha's relationship with her housekeeping employers that the romance got lost. When the author got you caring for Trish and Eddie, they just disappeared at the end. The book needed an epilogue. It just ended. The book had a lot of interesting funny parts, but it just did not end right for me. What happened to Trish, Eddie, and Melissa? Did Samantha really love Nathaniel? There was no real sex scenes.

Samantha is both a complicated and hilarious character! Amazing description of how the world is getting busier and stressful and how essential it is to take time off.

I read this book o many years ago, it was lovely great experience reading it. Wanted today to enjoy it again but there's only audio version available. Unfortunately I had to stop listening because narator's voice is sharp and horrible, she literally sounds like as old evil witch. Got headache...

    Couldn't read past chapter 8
I think the character Samantha was so unrealistic. Given she is a professional, I understand being in panic for the huge loss her little mistake caused but I just don't get running away and all the pretense to be a housekeeper.
She could have clearly told the house owners there was a misunderstanding somewhere and found her way back to sort out her mess but all the whole roleplaying a housekeeper just didn't match her character.
Maybe the rest of the story makes up for this, but I just couldn't continue (it was slightly frustrating, lol)
    Goodluck reading through.
Other Kinsella reads are amazing by the way.
