About this audiobook
Amanda James
Amanda James has written since she was a child and even asked her parents for a typewriter for Christmas. She never imagined her words would ever be published. In 2010 the dream of becoming a writer came true when she had her first short story published. Originally from Sheffield, Amanda now lives in Cornwall and is inspired every day by the wild and beautiful coastline. She can usually be found playing on the beach with her family, or walking the cliff paths planning her next book.

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5How to tell this quickly, well a cute guy shows up and tells her she must stitch together times and sends her back to do so. If she saves 3 she saves 9 and more.
I am taking a step back. Our heroine Sarah is unhappy, she is a teacher but has issues at work. Her personal life sucks too. And if I was her I would be unhappy too. But in comes mystery guy from the time agency. And because she is a history teacher she does well. She gets to to go to WWII Sheffield, to play little house on the prairie and to be a maid. But yes her modern sensibilities both saves her and gets her in trouble. But then it was not easy back then, and certainly not for a modern woman.
Oh yes, I did not forget mystery guy, there are sparks there and I will say no more.
Time-travel, romance and lives to be saved in this interesting mix. - Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5I had some vain hope that this might be of the same quality as Ben Elton's Time and Time Again but sadly no. This is very light-weight chick lit. I've only rated it so GR doesn't recommend similar books to me in future.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5This is a light-hearted time travel novel, with a somewhat more significant romance element than I would normally choose to read, but the time travel elements were quite well handled. Sarah Yates is a history teacher in Sheffield who one evening is visited by a mysterious handsome stranger, John, who tells her she has been chosen for a task to "stitch" holes in the fabric of time, the stranger being the "needle" who directs her missions. She travels back to Sheffield in 1940, London 1913, Kansas in 1874 and London in 1928. Some of the missions feel more serious than others, though they are mostly quite good fun, and I'm a sucker for almost any time travel story, so this was a pleasant, undemanding read.
