About this audiobook
Unstoppable husband and wife team Sam and Remi Fargo face off against an obsessive millionaire hunting for a lost treasure in this adventure in the #1 New York Times-bestselling series
When husband and wife treasure hunters Sam and Remi Fargo try something new, a relaxing vacation, a detour to visit a rare bookstore leads to the discovery of a dead body. All signs point to a book in the store that may contain a secret map, an actual, ink-on-paper guide to a historic fortune.
The Fargos take up the challenge and find themselves flying from California to Arizona, from Jamaica to England. Racing against a vicious corporate raider with an unhealthy obsession for this particular treasure, Sam and Remi are slowed by a new betrayal at every turn. It can only mean one thing: someone on their team cannot be trusted.
Buzzing with the chemistry and wit of Sam and Remi Fargo, Pirate reinvents the classic treasure hunt as only a Clive Cussler adventure can.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Difficult to put down, easy read with plenty of action.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Our heroes, the Fargos, are in a rare bookstore obtaining a copy of an old book about pirates. Some thugs barge in and wind up killing the store owner, the uncle of one of their employees. When her cousin (the owner's daughter) is kidnapped, Sam and Remi start to think there is something more to the book than merely an old tome.So naturally they end up on a quest to find the long-lost King John's treasure, squirreled away centuries ago when the monarch died while on a journey. Not much about pirates at all!
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Not up to standard? An interesting start, but: the misogynistic characters are just a bit...too misogynistic to be believable, A bit of the language is stilted and repetitive, a major plot point is left unresolved, and the ending is a bit rushed and unsatisfying. This has always been the weakest of Cussler's series, so its hard to say if moving on to the 4th different coauthor in 8 books is a cause or a symptom.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Eighth in The Fargo Adventures action adventure series --revolves around Sam and Remi Fargo, treasure-hunting millionaires. Remi and Sam get mixed up in another treasur hunt, centered around Robin Hood.. Exciting and fun, yet mindless. Fargoes are already characters that we know and the bad guys are developed about like Cussler usually does. In the end, a major plot point is left unresolved, and the ending is a bit rushed and unsatisfying. An OK read.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5What started as a simple book buying excursion for an old original book on Pirates lead Sam and Remi Fargo on a quest to stop a rich greedy man from obtaining King Johns lost treasure. A good book but not much to the story line.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5great story from start to finish. great tie in to Robin hood
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5The Fargo Adventures series really has its ups and downs. I enjoyed the last book tremendously and this one wasn't even close in comparison. It felt choppy and just when you think it's going to be a fun pirate adventure it turns out it's all about Robin Hood - scratch that - King John's treasure. It was also shorter than the last few and just felt less developed. Giving this series a pause for now but I plan to come back. I do like the treasure hunting duo - I just need a breather.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Pirate (A Sam and Remi Fargo Adventure) like all of their adventures starts out innocent enough in an old bookstore and leads to England in search of a pirate's booty. The Fargo's always crash and total their rental cars. They always run into terrible people who don't care about other lives and they always find their treasure. Pirate is a good story so four stars were awarded in this review.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Pirate is the 8th book in the Fargo Adventure series by Cussler (although mostly by Robin Burcell it would seem). It's a romp on the trail of treasure beginning in America with a historic book and proceeding through Brazil, Jamaica and England. It's standard fare for what you expect with a Cussler novel, there's the historic setting at the beginning then unfolding action and adventure as the story develops with some twists and turns that whilst keep the narrative moving aren't really that spectacular. I noted one error however in the unfolding story, in one section it states "The drawback, if his men were seriously injured in that accident, is that Avery would just send someone else." it's also mentioned again that the men survived "the car accident" yet no car accident had taken place that I can recall. Maybe the accident was removed in editing but they forgot to update the follow on narratives? That being said, it's an entertaining book that won't disappoint if you're a fan of the series.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Ok entry for this series. A lot of Sam and Remi getting into trouble; then shooting or thinking their way out of it. This plot worked better later with the Gray Ghost.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5The husband and wife team of Sam and Remi Fargo are just trying to take a vacation and Remi being the sweet wife that she is decides to try and find a rare but not necessarily valuable book to add to Sam’s collection. Well doesn’t that decision just lead them down a rabbit hole as the book in question supposedly leads to a treasure dating back to the days of Robin Hood. That chase will lead them all across the world from the United States to Brazil, Jamaica and even in England.I love that the writers added elements of treasure stories that are widely known by mostly everyone. It made the overall story very engaging and realistic. They even mentioned the mystery of Oak Island. There has been so much pondering as to whether or not there is or was ever a treasure on Oak Island (including a TV show) so I enjoyed that they used that in this novel. How fantastic that they could pull a current and real treasure hunter mystery into this book. Yes! Fantastic!
