About this audiobook
Award-winning, critically acclaimed author Alan Gratz (Prisoner B-3087) returns with another gripping World War II story, this time about a spy in the Hitler Youth.
It's the height of World War II. Michael O'Shaunessey, son of the Irish ambassador to Nazi Germany, lives with his family in Berlin. But Michael, like his parents, is a spy. He joins the Hitler Youth, taking part in their horrific games and book-burning, despising everything they stand for but using his insider knowledge to bring important information back to his parents and the British Secret Service. When Michael is tasked to find out more about Projekt 1065, a secret Nazi mission, things get even more complicated. He must prove his loyalty to the Hitler Youth at all costs -- even if it means risking the lives of his family... and himself.
Acclaimed author Alan Gratz delivers a heart-pounding, action-packed tale of political intrigue, betrayal, and survival.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I really enjoyed this book. I would definitely recommend it for anyone who is either learning or interested in world war 2. There was definitely some violence so I would recommend that younger kids don’t listen to this book. But it definitely gives you an idea of the hitler youth and what boys where expected of in Germany during World War 2. It was heart aching and exciting so all in all it was a great book.

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5I went back and forth on this book multiple times. The story line did keep pulling me in, but the narration style combatted with that a bit, which is unfortunate since I love other books by this author.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5It is a matter of surprise to me, knowing the existence of Hitler Youth, as I didn't know that such young kids were emotionally diverted, trained and used up in war. An interesting audio novel.

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5A decent one time read. The author tries to inspire a lot of gasps, but fails to surprise. Every time he builds suspense, the next sentence pops the balloon. This happens more than once. The narrator switches between a 'German' and Irish accent. Ze, zis, zo and so on which gets annoying after some time. The writing also lacks a lot of emotion. It's a good book for getting to know the Hitler Youth and some history from WW2.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Excellent book. Kept me on the edge of my seat after the first couple of sentences. I laughed when the sister wanted to get married and hated that Simon had to die
