    Cody Wilson is a former student of the University of Texas School of Law. He is the founder and director of Defense Distributed, a non-profit organization that developed and published the world’s first open source gun designs suitable for 3D printing. Forbes called Wilson one of the most polarizing figures in technology, and Wired named him one of the fifteen most dangerous people in the world. Since the development of his firearm, the Liberator, Wilson has become the spokesperson for the digital arms revolution and an enfant terrible of the lecture circuit. He is a member of the tech fraternity unSYSTEM. His work has been featured in DOMUS Magazine, exhibited at the New Museum, and has been permanently acquired by London’s V&A, the world’s greatest museum of design.

      writing: 4.5/5 -- succinct yet poetic

      content: 3/5 fascinating story but some major weaknesses also

      Inspiring story of one man's effort to take on the State monopoly over firearms. However, I see , two problems with this book...

      1. Censored: Instructions for gun-making manual (near end of book) is about a third redacted. I mean, like every fourth word! No explanation is provided. Was this due to a decision by courts, the publisher, who? Isn't there 1st Amendment protection for all material that is not incitement to violence (with clear and present danger)? Or was this due to this audio-book being purchased in Canada where there is no almost unlimited Freedom of Speech?
      2. Technical: I was less interested in the 'how-to' than the political and legal implications. I thought Mr. Wilson went to court over this enterprise. Yet, no mention is made in this book.
