About this audiobook

Zac knows that if he follows his heart he’ll win back the love of his life—but if Lucy’s memory returns, his would-be bride might say goodbye forever. Now a Hallmark Original movie!

She only remembers loving him. But he can’t forget the way she left.

Lucy Lovett can’t remember the last seven months of her life. She doesn’t remember leaving her fiancé Zac Callahan weeks before their wedding or moving to Portland, Maine. And she sure doesn’t remember getting engaged to another man. All she remembers is loving Zac more than life itself.

Zac was just beginning to get his life back on track after Lucy left him with no explanation. And now she’s back—vulnerable, homeless, and still in love with him. Has he been given a second chance with the only woman who stirs his passion and haunts his dreams?

Lucy knows she must unlock those missing months and discover why she threw everything away.

“I’ve been a longtime fan of Denise Hunter’s, and The Goodbye Bride has everything I’ve come to love about her romances: a plucky heroine with lots of backstory, a yummy hero, and a terrific setting. Highly recommended!” —Colleen Coble USA TODAY bestselling author of the Lavender Tides and Hope Beach series

“Can romance be any more complicated than a bride who doesn’t remember running away from her groom? Denise Hunter’s take on a woman’s attempt to find her way back to happily ever after again is sweetly endearing. Readers will keep turning pages, wanting to know how true love ever went so wrong . . . and if The Goodbye Bride gets her chance to say “I do.” —Beth K. Vogt, 2015 RITA® Finalist and author of Crazy Little Thing Called Love

“Denise Hunter has done it once again, placing herself solidly on my must-read list! The Goodbye Bride is a tender, thoughtful look at the role memories play in a romance. The clever plot kept me up way past my bedtime—and happy to be so!” —Deborah Raney, award-winning author of the Chicory Inn Novels series

The Goodbye Bride highlights the abandonment that so many have experienced. More importantly, within the context of a wonderful Summer Harbor romance, the author deftly illustrates that there is One who will never abandon us, and when we trust Him, we can in turn trust the people He places in our lives. All this packaged inside one heart-stopping, page-turning romance that will leave the pickiest romance reader delighted and asking for just a few more pages.” —Cara C. Putman, award-winning author of Where Treetops Glisten and Shadowed by Grace

Lucy has amnesia and doesn't remember leaving Zac. She calls him for help and despite his hurt he takes care of her. Nice story of seeing them work things out and solving the mystery of why Lucy left.

Well, Denise Hunter knows how to write a swoon-worthy romance, and her newest novel easily exemplifies exactly that. With a return to both the charming town of Summer Harbor, Maine and the highly appealing Callahan brothers, The Goodbye Bride will not leave lovers of romance disappointed.Heartbroken Zac Callahan, the younger brother of Falling Like Snowflakes’ Beau, has spent months trying to recover from the unexpected and painful departure of his fiancee Lucy Lovett, but an amnesia-inducing accident threatens to undo all his forward progress. Since Lucy cannot remember making the decision to leave Zac so suddenly, she wants a chance to regain his affections - but he refuses to get hurt again. Their story then unfolds with compelling conflict, chemistry, and character development and captured my attention, imagination, and emotions until the very satisfying end. Entirely engrossing and delightful, The Goodbye Bride is a top-notch read, and I loved every moment in this second trip to Summer Harbor. With ease and certainty, I recommend it to fans of contemporary romance, while impatiently look forward to reading the third Callahan brother’s story, Just a Kiss. Thanks to BookLook Bloggers, I received a copy of The Goodbye Bride and the opportunity to honestly review it. The book cover drew me in and the first chapter caught me and I couldn't put it down. I really liked the storyline, it was a little different, which is always good. This is a series about the Callahan brothers and you will want to read them all. You can read this story as a stand alone, but all 3 Callahan brothers are worth getting to know.Lucy Lovett can't remember the last 7 months of her life. She doesn't remember leaving her fiancé Zac Callahan just weeks before their wedding. As the back cover says it so well, "She only remembers loving him. But he can't forget the way she left." When Lucy calls Zac and asks him to come rescue her, the story begins where Lucy must remember why she was found in a wedding dress wearing someone else's ring. And Zac must try to help her, even though it might mean her breaking his heart all over again. I loved the tension and the love oozing out of these two for each other. It also had a little bit of mystery to it and it kept my attention all the way through. Looking forward to starting book 3 next, "Just a Kiss"!

I planned on binge reading the series, as I just loved the first book. I think I liked this one even more! Each book follows a different Callahan brother: Beau, Zac, and Riley. I knew this followed Zac, but I had no clue it was going to take the turns it did with Lucy. I loved that this was a second chance romance and that it again has a mystery behind the story. You are wondering until the reveal what happened to Lucy and what would happen when she gets her memory back. I loved it and I am moving on to the third book in the series! I love Denise Hunter and the Callahan brothers.

This was a little bit different from the Denise Hunter books I have read in the past. It still kept my interest to the end. It had some turns in the plot that I wasn't expecting, but it ended as any good chick-lit book should.

This is another great book from an author that writes with humor, compassion and gives readers a touch of romance . I loved the characters and how they were developed easily over a course of a few chapters. It was nice to get to know them and sense their feelings just by the stroke of a pen with words that flowed easily. I've seen shows where the main theme is someone has amnesia and it takes forever for them to get it back. They cry and walk around depressed and I quickly lose interest. With this book, it was refreshing and written with a flow that didn't detour into unimportant details. Lucy wakes up in a bathroom after hitting her head . She is wearing a wedding dress and can't remember a thing. I would hate to have that feeling of confusion . Poor Lucy can't remember the last seven months. She does remember that she was getting married but she has the wrong fiancé in mind. What is a woman to do? Well of course she calls her Zac to rescue her. There is one little catch though; she isn't engaged to the man she calls on the phone anymore. Zac is floored when he receives a call from Lucy asking to be rescued. He reluctantly goes and picks her up, still remembering how hurt he still feels when she left him seven months ago with no explanation. Lucy , you got some explaining to do. The story is so good with some unexpected twists. Will Lucy ever regain her memory? Who is this other man who claims to be her fiancé? Why is she uncomfortable around him? The book is well written and will have you glued to the story as it gives you a glimpse into redemption, trust, faith and forgiveness. Who will win Lucy's heart? I received a copy of this book from The Fiction Guild for an honest review.

Lucy Lovett's got an unresolved past (both remembered and forgotten) behind her and an emotionally daunting journey ahead of her in The Goodbye Bride, the second Summer Harbor novel by author Denise Hunter.I picked this book up with little knowledge of its plot, set on reading it on account of how much I enjoyed the preceding novel, Falling Like Snowflakes. In this sequel, I appreciated the glimpses of returning characters and the messages of forgiveness, of relying on God for strength to face human relationships, of love that is stronger than fear. And like the first romance I read by this author, I'd place this one on the steamier side of Christian Fiction--not at all a bad thing!Still, the romance began to lose my interest after a while, as the instances and descriptions of Lucy and Zac's attraction became redundant. It seemed that they each stopped to brood over and around the same desires and doubts a number of times throughout the story, and the reading lagged for me in the middle. There also seemed to be a menacing build-up toward something that pretty much fizzled into nothing.Nevertheless, I'm rather sure this heartfelt return to Summer Harbor has built on a good setup for the next book in the series...________________BookLook Bloggers provided me with a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher for an honest review.

Title: The Goodbye Bride (A Summer Harbor Novel #2)Author: Denise HunterPages: 336Year: 2016Publisher: Thomas NelsonMy rating is 5 stars. The Callahan brothers are in a pickle with the ladies. Mainly, it is Zach who is still in love with Lucy though she left seven months earlier. Zac was really brokenhearted when out of the blue Lucy calls and asks him to come get her like it was just yesterday. Lucy woke up in a wedding dress, with a lump on her skull in a totally different state than where Zac was living. Problem was the last seven months she has no clue what happened and doesn’t even remember being engaged to a man named Brad. Zac doesn’t want to go through that heartache again so he distances himself from her. Beau, his older brother, was miffed that Zac went to rescue her. When his brother serving overseas found out, he was beside himself with frustration as well. The series begins in the first book, Falling Like Snowflakes. For readers to truly appreciate the ongoing saga of the brothers it does help to read book one before book two. I loved how the author shared with her readers some more of the various characters pasts to help us understand why they are the way they are. Right now Lucy is on her own journey to try and live without remembering seven months of her life, starting over in a small town where everybody knows your business and she has no job or money. There are a couple funny parts in the story that will cause you to chuckle I hope as it did me. I love how going through healing from past hurts with God in prayer and a community of believers is represented. I think one truth that could have been more prominent is the need to seek counsel from the Word of God, which wasn’t evident in the book. However, the way God pursues us and loves us is a clear theme in the story. Plus, the passion that can be real in a marriage is directly correlated to how open we are with God letting Him touch our hearts, minds and souls even when at times it is painful. Even when it looks like it or feels like it, the truth is that God will never leave us or abandon us, which is a foundational truth portrayed in this series.I hope you grab these enjoyable novels and allow the truths of God to soak your heart and soul, and enjoy the moments of laughter too!Disclosure of Material Connection: I received one or more of the products or services mentioned above for free in the hope that I would mention it on my blog.
