About this audiobook

He's big, burly, and way smarter than your average shapeshifting bear. He's also about to get trapped by his own game...
Lou Crushek is a reasonable, mellow, easygoing kind of guy. But when someone starts killing the scumbags he works so hard to bust, that really gets under his fur. Especially when that someone is a curvy she-tiger with a skill set that's turning Crush's lone-bear world upside down-and bringing his passion out of hibernation.
As a member of an elite feline protection unit, Marcella Malone has no problem body-dropping anyone who hunts her kind. But Crush is proving one major pain in her gorgeous tail. The only reason she's joined forces with him is to track down the wealthy human who's got her entire species in his ruthless sights. It sure isn't because Crush's stubborn and contrary attitude is rubbing Cella in all the right ways...

Fun, funny and fabulous way to spend time getting to know Lou “Crush” Crushek and Marcella “Cella” Malone! The way Ms Laurenston has included the animal habits and attributes of the shape shifting characters in this book makes each one of them even more fun to get to know. A Siberian Tiger ice hockey playing contract killer and a Polar Bear good guy cop wouldn’t seem to have much in common but they have chemistry aplenty and watching their relationship evolve provided great entertainment. In addition to the love story there were many other threads from detective work to hockey to family – all of which enhanced the story. At the end of the book I wondered if there would be another book to follow that will see the bad guy big game hunter see his comeuppance. I would definitely read another book by this author!Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington Books for the copy of this book to read and review.

Lots of humorous knock down drag out fighting even among friends in this paranormal story. While enjoyable it was a bit too much, often eclipsing the plot and I just got tired of all the fighting. Tough tiger shifter Cella is part of an elite force and tends to jump on to low key cop bear shifter 'Crush' whenever the meet.

I am not sure how I missed this book. I thought that I had read all of the books in this series. It was a nice surprise that I found a new book. This is Lou “Crush” Crushek's story. Crush has shown up in several of the stories especially the older ones. In fact was Dez McDermott's partner before she was transferred to the all shifter unit. Crush meets Marcella “Bare Knuckles Malone and Cella” Malone at Dez's New Years Party. It isn't a great first meeting since Crush is hung over from drinking too many Jello shots. The story is also dealing with people hunting the shifters and stuffing them as trophies. It is also about a corrupt individual heading the BPC “Bear Preservation Council” that is causing problems. Crush is an uptight cop that has been undercover for years. He looks like he is a drug dealer or a serial killer so he is the perfect person to go after the criminals. Crush also doesn't like change of any kind. So when he is transferred to the shifter unit he isn't happy. Crush is also a super hockey fan and he is thrilled to meet Novikov when Cella takes him to a Carnivores game. Crush has two brothers that he has no use for in fact he beats the snot out of them every time he sees them. Oh yeah, Crush is a polar bear shifter.Marcella is a Siberian tiger shifter. She has been a Marine and is now a contractor for the BZS. She is also an enforcer for the Carnivores. Cella loves hockey and she has a way of dealing with Novikov that everyone on the team envies. Cella is a care free, irreverent tiger that loves her daughter and her family. Cella is smart and witty and she loves to mess with people. She and Dee-Ann have formed a strange friendship that seems to work very well for the two of them. This story is a little different from the other books. There is only two new characters introduced Sophie DeMarco and Michael Callahan well except for Crush’s two brothers, however they are married so they won’t be forming a relationship with anyone in this place. There weren’t as many intimate encounters between Cella and Crush. There was more interaction between Crush and Cella and the other characters from the other books. There also isn't as much humor in this book. It is still a good story and I am not sure how it works with the other books other than giving Crush and Cella a happily ever after.

I don't why it took me so long to read this book, since I ended up thinking it was one of the best so far in the series. I loved Crush's politeness and Cella's in your face attitude, they made a great couple and their moments were really funny and really sweet too. Loved Meghan!

Review first posted on Reader's Edyn (blogspot) I could kick myself for not reading this book or author sooner. I mean where the heck have I been that this is the first Shelly Laurenston book that I have ever read? I don’t require snark in the books that I read, but I definitely prefer it. And I cannot describe Ms. Laurenston’s style as anything better than mastered-snarkalicious-awesomeness! And what is better is that there is so much more than the wit! The story contains action, drama, dysfunction, lust, mystery, intrigue, paranormal, and super hot sex. Fans of PNR better mark this as a MUST read or risk missing one of the best clusters of fabulous they have ever encountered.I don’t know that I should even begin to try and explain all that this story contains because it really is quite a lot to take in. I believe that with all of the components that this story likely has roots elsewhere that I intend to seek out in the very near future. That said, for the purpose of this review, I will stick to the main characters and not delve into any of the awesome supporting characters.Lou Crushek (Crush) is a bear; Polar Bear to be specific. A loner by nature, he likes to keep his life in order. No drama, no partner, and definitely not a psychotic, assassin feline. Or at least that is the first impression Cella gives. Unfortunately for Crush, the sexy Tiger and her scheming ways prove dangerous for his senses and before too long the minx has literally inserted herself into the middle of his life both personally and professionally. Crush’s tough exterior screams to get far away, but his attraction to the feline spitfire just may be strong enough for Crush to talk himself into allowing more with Cella. Never mind the risk and danger the two continually find themselves in or the drama-free life that quickly crumbles into oblivion. The chaos that is Cella quickly turns out to be exactly what the brooding bear needs.Marcella Malone (Cella) is a wily Tiger that wears many hats; security, assassin, single mother, black sheep, kick ass hockey player, and a little bit of crazy just to name a few. She struggles to find a balance between raising her daughter the right way which is basically impossible for her, especially with a meddlesome family. Consequently, or possibly because of how she just “is”, she thrown herself full on into everything else in her life. When she sets her sights on Crush as a way to scoot under the family radar, a fake relationship quickly develops into a craving that only Crush and Cella can satisfy together. Before too long, Cella is considering possibilities that she long ago filed as “not going to happen”.I cannot even begin to describe how much I truly enjoyed my time spent with Crush and Cella. If ever there were two opposites that attracted these two take the cake. The wonderful mix of quirky behavior, wit, broodiness, and undeniable attraction make for one of the best PNR reads I have ever had the pleasure of coming across. In short, if you haven’t experienced Laurenston, you are operating at a disadvantage. One read and I am a forever fan.(ARC paperback copy provided by publisher in exchange for an honest review.)

When a mercurial party girl with a penchant for brawling wakes up naked next to a stolid copy who hates change, blame it on the jello shots, and watch out, because sparks are going to fly.Love a romance novel that doesn't take itself too seriously. Shapeshifters, hockey, hyperactive wolf-dogs hybrids on roller skates... this is a keeper.

Very entertaining, liked it more than the last one. Occasional bit of character overload and struggled to keep all the characters straight, but liked despite this. Good read.

Pretty much laughing from beginning to end. Not sure I "felt" the love between Crush and Cella so much this time though, felt like the author is getting so into the funny she didn't totally develop the romance aspect this time. I mean, I liked them together, and I know they came to like each other a lot, but I don't know if the BIGLOVE was totally sold.

Still, I loved it, and it made me want to revisit some of my old friends again, so it might be time for a reread of certain books.

This was another great installment of Ms. Laurenston's shifter series. This time around, we get to see the inner machinations of Cella "Bare Knuckles" Malone. I loved the family dynamic and the idea that even though she's a single mother, the whole family pitches in and raises each generation. I enjoyed the banter between the "pretend" couple but I do have to say, I was looking for a little less talk and alot more action (between the sheets that is). Don't get me wrong, the sheets were properly scorched when there happened to be some sexy time, I guess I was just hoping for a few more one-on-one scenes for the passionate mates ~ especially since I seem to be living vicariously through my TBR pile - Then again, maybe I'm just getting smuttier in my old age - LOL ;)FTC Advisory: I won a copy of this book through the GoodReads First Reads program - thanks!

Lou ‘Crush’ Crushek is a not your typical cop. He goes undercover to catch the most vile criminals around and he loves his job. However, he’s not just an undercover cop. He’s a polar bear shapeshifter and he’s just been transferred to a special shifter organization. Crush hates change and now he’s depressed. Enter into the picture a tiger shifter named Marcella ‘Bare Knuckles’ Malone and little does Crush know that the transfer isn’t going to be the only change he’ll need to handle.Well-written, fast-flowing, humorous and hot. Shelly Laurenston just cannot write this series fast enough for me. I love her books and this latest installment in the Pride series is no different. Love! It! I’m not sure what it is about the bear shifters I love so much, but I do. I really do. They’re my favorite of all the shifters. I’m worried that she’s running out of characters to write about in this series though. I want it to go on forever! :)*The publisher provided a copy of this story to me for review. This was another fun episode in Laurenston's shifter series. This time the romance focuses on Cella Malone and Lou Crushek. She's a tiger and part of the Malones, a formidable Traveller family, a professional hockey player, and a contractor for KZS, an organization that protects feline shifters. Lou is a polar bear and a cop. He is honest, blunt, and an avid hockey fan. She is blunt, constantly teasing him, and a devoted mother. The story starts when they wake up together - naked - after being at the same party and, in Crush's case, indulging in too many Jello shots. Cella loves to tease and torment him and all he wants is to get away. However, away isn't much of an option when he is transferred to a new precinct filled with shifters and is partnered with one of her good friends. The main problem that they are focusing on in this one is the strained rivalry between the other shifter groups and the bears who happen to be led by the foster mother Lou really hates. Additionally, there is the problem of the big game hunts that like to abduct and use shifters, particularly lions and bears, and the focus of the hunt. And surrounding all the investigations is hockey. Being a hockey player is very important to Cella. This story let me catch up on the lives of some of the characters in the earlier books of this series. Cella plays hockey with Novikov and Ric Van Holtz and is friends with their mates Blayne Thorpe and Dee Ann Smith. Novikov and Crush become friends in a very bear sort of way. I love the way Laurenston manages to fit in the animal traits in her characters' personalities.Fans of the series won't want to miss this one.

I feel a bit like I have a bi-polar personality. I hate this book, but at the same time like a bloody car wreck, I can't seem to look away (stop reading). I read some Laurenston, but apparently not enough to understand that this was part of a larger series. (Amazon can't seem to confirm that but it IS the impression I get) and I am truly sorry I spent 8.99 on a Kindle version of a book that I will never read again. This was one of the sloppiest written books I have read in a long time. The story lacks cohesion, very, very little plot (what plot there really is doesn't start until the book is 62% finished) the protagonists seem to be many since the main, secondary and tertiary characters are all treated the same way by the author. The sex is lukewarm at best, Crush is annoyingly naive and Marc ells is just a big witch with a B. While I adore strong and feisty female characters I don't need to read about a woman who hits before thinking, seems to hate everyone equally and plays ice hockey. That is not a strong female lead, that is an annoying mish-mash of I don't exactly know what. The only saving grace is that Crush, while somewhat stupidly naive and annoyingly immovable, has some clever dialogue and isn't afraid to look like a wuss around some people. If you have never read anything by this author---go to the library if you MUST read this book.
