About this audiobook

Quitting her job as a high school science teacher to join the Seattle Police Department was an easy decision for Tracy Crosswhite. Years earlier, what should have been one of the happiest days of her life instead became her worst nightmare when her younger sister, Sarah, disappeared. After the murder trial, while her family disintegrated, Tracy turned her heartbreak and her lingering questions into a passion for justice.

But people don’t just become world-class detectives. If Tracy wants to uncover the truth about what happened to her sister, first she must be forged in the fires of the Police Academy, where not everyone wants her to succeed.

This short story is all you will need to read before you find yourself waiting, impatiently screaming for the next book! There's no guarantee here, but I'm pretty certain you'll love Mr. Dugoni's writing style as much as you'll love Tracy Crosswhite! Thank you, Mr. Dugoni!! Up next: "My Sister's Grave." •~ kc

I loved it. It's a book about the struggles of becoming a police officer as a female, a book about determination, fighting mysoginism in the work place and about loyalty.
It's a very nice, fast listen, the narrator did a very good job.
I actually listened to the first book in the series before listening to this novel. This glimpse into the detective's past makes her so much more relatable and likeable.
    Overall it was great.

I found it to be a great book for the females to show they can be just as good as the males ?

Good short. Very much enjoyed Tracy taking Nolasco down a few pegs and seeing their relationship from the very beginning. Man, I hate that guy.

This short story is a prequel to the "Tracy Crosswhite" series that shows the determination and fortitude in one woman’s story to serve a higher purpose and to overcome in a male dominated work environment. I listened to it in about an hour and found myself rooting for the two women in the story.
