About this audiobook
RITA Award winner, Romance with Religious or Spiritual Elements.
Former bad girl Katie Stone can feel the weight of her reputation settle over her as she drives home for the first time in years. Feeling deeply guilty about her past mistakes, Katie wants to do the right thing for once. But the small town where she grew up is not nearly as forgiving as she’d hoped. Despite it all, she’s determined to help her parents cope with her mother’s recent illness, and Katie finds a surprise ally in the man next door.
Asher Powell never minded being the son of a small-town pastor until a recent breakup leaves him wounded by lifelong members of his church. He remembers his new neighbor as a mean-spirited high school troublemaker, but he senses that her newfound faith and desire for forgiveness are sincere.
Through an unexpected friendship, two people from different worlds find peace, hope, and a second chance they never dreamed was possible.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5OH MY, WORD, WHAT AN GOOD BOOK!! I loved that Katie went back home after she fled her small town in the middle of the night after she stayed away for four years, she was a hellcat then and did dope and drank beer. She thought that she was never shown any love. After she heard that her mom was ill, she returned home a changed woman, new to Christ, but the town did not believe her, and then her ex-boyfriend threatened to tell her best friend her dark secret unless they get back together, I loved that Asher always had a crush on Katie back in school although she was mean spirited to him, now that he had bought the house next door, he treated her like the preacher's kid that he was. He knew that her dad wanted her to makeup with her ex but he had a violent temper when he did not get what he wanted, but he did not know about her secret as Cooper did.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5So great! A real road to redemption story. Loved the characters and Ashas wise parents. Wonderful life lessons set in a Godly book.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5It was a sweet book
I loved it ?
My only disappointment is I didn't really feel that Katy actually grew closer to God
For a newly saved girl I would have wanted to see her pray and I'm so happy that even if there's a happy ending
It was a realistic one
Forgiveness takes time and even when seeking forgiveness it is not always given ?? - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Great book about forgiveness and redemption. Loved the characters. I highly recommend it.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This was a cute and sweet story. I really enjoyed it.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Regret, pain, fear and anger have paralyzed the hearts of all involved, but hope has found a crack in the heart of one. Emotions are raw, real and flying in all directions. Platitudes and masks have no place. Life is messy and real. Katie brings it home.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I like how this story is a love story but it also feels real. The main characters have flaws but are likable and change and grow as the story progresses. The story doesn’t wrap everything up in a tidy bow at the end but it leaves you with hope and feeling good.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Great book with growth, romance, some suspense, and the redemption of Christ!
My first book by this author and it won’t be my last.
I liked the female narrator, but the male sounded older than the character and I didn’t care for the forced female voices. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Such a great and healing story. It was so interesting from beginning to end. Sweet and hopeful, this story shows the beauty of how one can save themselves with a little faith and having someone believe in you.
