About this audiobook

The New York Times and USA TODAY bestselling author of the explosively sexy Inside Out and the Secret Life of Amy Bensen series will seduce you with this sultry tale of possession and ecstasy, wild fantasies and dangerous secrets—first in the racy and suspenseful Careless Whispers series.

Ella awakes alone in Italy, no longer sure of who she is. One thing is certain: a gorgeous man has claimed her as his own. He’s tall, dark, and sexy, the kind of rich, powerful man who makes a girl long to be possessed. And possess her he does, whispering wicked promises in her ear, indulging her deepest desires, stealing her trust—and her cautious heart. Soon, though, she discovers that nothing is as it seems. The truth will shatter her world, but it will also set her free…if it doesn’t destroy her first.

New York Times and USA TODAY bestselling author Lisa Renee Jones, whose searing novels generate “enough heat...to start a fire” (RT Book Reviews), dares you to fall in love with her irresistibly surprising and scandalously erotic new series.

I randomly happened along this book and my gosh it’s so good. First, the narration is perfect. Where many narrators sound bored or to uncomfortable with sensual story line, this sounds more like calm soothing read, with someone who enjoys reading it as much as we enjoy listening. I’ve been lost in the story line since the beginning. It’s not a fast read, taking its time working through plot lines. Though some of the writing seems repetitive at times, it makes sense with the plot and you really get an idea of what’s going on through Ellas head. The big reveal is pending, but the way the story ebbs it makes you feel as if you’ve really learned so much even with little said. If you’re here for a quick read, this isn’t it. However, if you want to get lost in a book with characters that have great depth, great emotion and turmoil, and a story line that has you hooked in the first chapter, this is a great read. I do hope the second book is as incredible as this, and being that I’ve already started I can say that it certainly is looking to turn out that way. So settle in, tie a couple hours (or days) away, and get lost in this incredible story.

Meh, week storyline and flat characters, I think more research for details and volume would help.

No conclusion. You have to get the next book. Too much time having the character in the dark and not answers.

Ella wakes up in Rome, in a hospital, with no idea of who she is or what shes doing there.

    She's also not alone.

Kayden knows Ella more than he let's on. He says he found her in a back alley but he knows more than he's willing to share. Plus he's one fine specimen of a man. Bad boy, "no one can touch you but me" vibes. Yes, please!

Ella gets thrown into this world criminal world, hiding from the mafia, with a really hot guy who has his own dark secrets that he's not so willing to reveal. As Ella starts to remember pieces of the puzzle the plot starts to thicken and nothings ever as it seems.

Who can you even trust if you don't remember?

I am dying to read the next book, especially with the discovery that Ella made at the end. Plus there's Kayden and he brings a hell of a lot of steam to the book.

Whinny, annoying, and lack luster. I wanted to like this book but it just wasn't good. The ending of this book gives you zero closure too, I love books in a series but a good series gives you a great standalone book with climax and closure and can keep you still jones-ing for the next one to continue on. I don't even care enough to continue with the next book.
