About this audiobook

Twenty-six-year-old Gaby Barreto might be a lot of things (loyal, sarcastic, one of the guys, and a pain in the butt, depending on which family member you ask), but dumb isn't one of them. When her twin brother invites her to go on tour as his band's merch girl, she isn't exactly screaming at the top of her lungs with joy.

With no job opportunities pounding on her door, an ex-boyfriend she would still like to castrate, and no end in sight to moving out of her parents' house in Dallas, it would be dumb to say no to the chance of a lifetime. Two bands, three continents, one tour. Spending the next ninety-plus days with three beloved idiots and eight complete strangers shouldn't be a big deal, right? If only the singer of the headlining band didn't have tattoos, a great personality, a fantastic body, and if he weren't so funny . . . Let's be real: Gaby never had a chance against Sacha Malykhin.

Adorable love story and laughed out loud through the whole book.

Gaby is one of the guys, but she's caught off guard when she first meets the sweet, swoon-worthy rock star Sacha. And they're about to go on tour together - forced proximity! <3

This book is full of banter and funny moments, I laughed and nearly spat out my drink at one point!

I love how her brother is still super annoying but sticks up for her when it clearly matters, and the same with their best friend Mason. I like Carter too.

This is a story of friendship as well as love

She is such a QuIrKy GiRl that talks about poop and farts and is one of the boys
Honestly it wasn't that bad and I support my girls but this girl was just too much

I've read almost all of her books and I had to stop twice to make sure this was even the same author. The characters aren't as deep as usual and it's a little funnier but there's the misogyny and transphobia for no reason. Weird.

Cute story. Would have been better with a male narrator but I still enjoyed it.

I admire how the author varies the main characters of each of her books so they are not cookie cutter romance novels but instead very enjoyable books with heat and a slow build up before some hot and bit graphic sex. This book though….I am not sure if it isn’t as good as usual or if it is as good as usual and I just don’t enjoy spending so much time in the head of a 23 year old with no life plans,

I love the writer, the characters, the plot everything BUT I couldn’t hear the last 2 chapters! It gets cut at the end. It’s not about the book but the app itself. Super sad.

DNF 33% I liked the characters and story for the most part but the misogyny, homophobia and transphobia present in jokes makes it a deal breaker.

Second read, November 2020. Gaby, in need of a job and a distraction agrees to go on tour with her twin brother's band to be their merch girl. Her brother Eli's band is the opener for The Cloud Collision, TCC for short. The first time Gaby meets the Sacha, lead singer for TCC, she does something embarrassing and is completely smitten. There is always something crazy happening as she travels with 11 guys 24/7. She and Sacha have a connection that grows as time passes. I loved this book just as much as the first time I read it. There is some gross guy humor that I have no problem believing could really be a part of a group of bandmates like these. They all also have grown into a family and have each other's backs, especially Eli and Gaby as twins. I loved them. This book doesn't get as much praise as some of Mariana Zapata's other books, but it is truly one of my favorites.

I've just reading this book for the second time in the span of a year and it just got bumped into my favorites shelf. Yep, it's that good.

Well, to be honest, the romance aspect of it wasn't my main interest, or at least it's definitely not the strongest suit of the book. Sasha is just too... perfect, I guess. I couldn't really relate to him, and though he shows kindness and a good sense of humour, I don't know. Too Mary Sue for my tastes, I guess (I can't even remember one thing the guy did wrong, or a fault in his personality, seriously. A bit jealous? That's even stretching it). And believe me, I'm a fan of romance, of Mariana Zapata and of slow burns, so it's even paining me to admit the romance aspect of it was not the one I actually liked. But that's ok. There are so many things that are amazing with that book that we'll let that go.

The friendships. God, they are amazing. Eli, Mason, Gordo, Laila... Well, mostly the first two, because the last two didn't seem as present to me, but still. These friendships are perfect. Sure, they are pretty silly and kinda immature for 26, I feel like they are closer to 20 than anything, but the display of affection behind all the shit they do to each other? That's just amazing. I love that Eli learned to braid hair just for Gaby, that Mason will puncture 3 tires of Gaby's ex's car, and that Gordo remains silent and will buy her food when he knows she just listened to something which bothered her. I love that they all make fun of each other in the worst case possible, but still quietly care. The sense of humour of that book is just amazing. I was laughing my ass off on so many occasions that I stopped counting. I mean, when on the first page you can read: "When he then asked me, “Do you have time to talk?” in a completely sober tone, I was pretty much expecting the apocalypse. Or at the very least, being asked to give up one of my major organs.", you get a pretty good idea of the type of relationship Gaby shares with her twin.

It's a really light read, there's no plot whatsoever, and I'd say it's not the best romance book I've read, but if you just want to relax, to have some fun and just shake your head in amusement and fondness at the amazing friendships displayed in a book, I'd say this book is for you. Give it a go, you'll see you'll keep on reading just to know what prank those idiots decide to do next.

Rhythm, Chord & Malykhin tells a unique and funny way to fall in love.
I enjoyed all the bantering between Gaby, the female MC, and her brother's band. The same for the love story that slowly grows between Gaby and Sasha, the lead singer in another group. It is intermixed with seriously hilarious moments and has one of the sweetest male MC in this genre. Nevertheless, it didn't capture my heart completely.
