About this audiobook

Jason "Cobra" Stanley was born to fight. With a father like his, he had to toughen up just to survive. Now Cobra tries to take out all of his frustration, all of his anger, and all of his pain in the MMA cage. But after he receives one too many hits to the head during a match, the cycle of violence comes to a screeching halt. Cobra wakes up in the hospital, under the care of a nurse whose blond hair shines like a halo-and whose pure heart touches him on the deepest level.

Lorraine Bosch is a fighter too. The lone survivor of a chilling family tragedy, she prides herself on remaining professional, despite the chaos of the ER. But Cobra is the ultimate distraction. Lorraine knows she should run away screaming from his rippling muscles and shattered psyche. And yet how can she deny this broken man a second chance-especially since she knows exactly what he's been through? Lorraine's used to playing guardian angel. Now it's her turn to find heaven in Cobra's arms.

This was a deep, dark, mysterious story, that was full of intrigue and passion that at first had me a little confused, but as I read and I began to realize what was happening. I could not put the book down. The tension between Jason and Lorraine was phenomenal. Jason 'Cobra' Caldwell is a MMA cage fighter. His relationship with his live-in girl is a little messed up and it has to end, and the only way he can find any release from his messed up life is to fight. Lorraine is a nurse who meets a badly beaten up guy who manages to say his name is 'Cobra'. She thinks he has been hurt in a MMA street fight but keeps quite about it and just helps him. Jason catches up with her later to thank her but she acts evasive and gives him the brush off, so he heads home to his girlfriend who finally pushes him to far and they spit. He knows his decision to separate from Missy is the best thing to do, Jason then heads out to a bondage club and meets up with a super hot girl, he's never met before, and she stirs more than any girl has before. And this where the story really gets wild.I was really drawn into this book, It's a story not to be missed.

Well I have to say, this story was on the verge of ending up in the DNF section of my Goodreads profile. It is really dark but there's a lot of confusion at the beginning that I was not feeling at first. TRIGGERS: Domestic Violence, statutory rape, child abuse. Jason is a volatile MMA who we saw previously in M.J. Fields' "Jagger". Jason feels he has a monster inside him that he uses fighting to release. He has some serious anger issues. Lorraine threw me for a serious loop for the first few chapters of the book. There's something seriously wrong with her but you'll not find out what it is until maybe 30% into the book. Though, you'll believe it's some sort of OCD. Lorraine is dealing with some serious depression and is looking for revenge. Now the authors REALLY took me on a trip because they went in one direction and then made a complete u-turn and took us somewhere else. So I'm sitting here now wondering what was the point of the "den". So anyway, this is an insta-romance and there is non stop sex so much so that I was wondering if the characters were actually going to use their words at some point. Their chemistry is off the charts though. And they somehow match each other. He's wild and vicious and she's calm and serene. He's a complete alpha male and she is essentially a damsel. The plot twist was unreal but when you hear it or read it, it totally makes sense. It was a good story, it just had a bumpy beginning.
