- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5I love Ann Rule!! But I couldn’t get past the (what I assume) was a computer program reading of the book. Something was just off— like a robot reading and trying to sound like a person. Nope!

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I shouldn't be fascinated by true crime, but I am, and this book definitely fit into that interest. Rule is extensive in her research and tells the story of Harvey and his victims very well. Definitely worth a read.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5So many emotions and I have no idea how to label this serial killer. It's a must read but not intended for teens or younger in my opinion. Too much vulgar and sexual explicit content for that age range.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5It’s hard to believe monsters like this walk the earth. The story is true and is of local interest.. I binged the audiobook. I first heard about this character in a true crime episode that didn’t do justice to the horror of this story.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Good work for a book published in 1983. There was, at the time, a propensity for authors to embellish situations where there is no concrete evidence. Such as, putting words in the mouth of a deceased person to make the story flow better. But Ann was one of the better true crime authors at the time. Dude is 93 & still in prison.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Overall not as good as some of Ann Rule's books but the first half or three quarters were great, and the narrator was great throughout (audiobook). The last few chapters on "was he or wasn't he" insane got a little overbearing, and could have been summed up a little quicker instead of questioning each little thing that the killer said, but as an expose I guess all that questioning of each sentence was needed. It just didn't translate into a great audiobook. Still, the author is great at delivering true crime books and 3/4 of the book was superb. Overall, recommend for true crime lovers.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5An interesting read. The story is well-balanced with personal facts about the killer and the victims and makes the problems with the justice system clear without being preachy.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Ann Rule is very fair to both victim and villian in her writing. This story focuses around a young, innocent girl, Kathy Miller, and her mother's premonition of her fate. The result is heartbreaking and suspenseful.
