About this audiobook

An International Thriller Writers Award finalist.

To Rebecca it was a brave decision that led to her freedom from domestic abuse. To Solomon it was the ultimate betrayal.

It’s been ten years since Rebecca’s testimony saw Solomon locked away. Enough time for the nightmares to recede, the nerves to relax; enough time to rebuild her life and put the past behind her.

Then one day a phone rings in her bedroom—but it’s not her phone. Solomon has been in her home, and has a very simple message for her: for each of the ten years he has spent in jail, Rebecca must witness a crime. And, to make matters worse, she has to choose the victims.

Fail to respond and you get hurt. Talk to the police and you die. Ready to play? You have sixty seconds to decide…

As the crimes grow more severe, the victims closer to home, Rebecca is forced to confront a past she had hoped was gone forever.

Caroline Mitchell

A former police detective, Caroline Mitchell now writes full-time. She has worked in CID and has also specialised in roles dealing with vulnerable victims—high-risk victims of domestic abuse and serious sexual offences. The mental strength shown by the victims of these crimes is a constant source of inspiration to her, and Mitchell combines their tenacity with her knowledge of police procedure to create tense psychological thrillers. Originally from Ireland, she now lives in a pretty village on the coast of Essex with her husband and two children. Witness by Caroline Mitchell; (3 1/2*)A psychological thriller that was WAY better than I anticipated! I found it to be an intense read with plenty of twists and turns to keep this interested right through to the end.

This book was fairly predictable with slow pacing and mediocre characters. I read the first half and skimmed through the second half to see how it ended. I was expecting a twisty ending but there were no real surprises. I had guessed the big secret long before the big reveal. I received a free copy from netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

sorry did not enjoy this one, I thought main character was too childish and at times self centered. A great disappointment.

Somewhat graphic but couldn’t stop listening! Edge of your seat reading!

The beginning was fantastic, then, well, I had a hard time suspending disbelief. I skipped from chapter 28 to chapter 67 and I didn’t miss much. Not my kind of suspense story, though I think the writer is talented. Like everything else you read in this era of misinformation: be sure to ask if the narrator is reliable.
