About this audiobook

Isaac Bell may be on the hunt for the greatest monster of all time in the newest action-adventure novel from #1 New York Times-bestselling author Clive Cussler.

The year is 1911. Chief Investigator Isaac Bell of the Van Dorn Detective Agency has had many extraordinary cases before. But none quite like this.

Hired to find a young woman named Anna Pape who ran away from home to become an actress, Bell gets a shock when her murdered body turns up instead. Vowing to bring the killer to justice, he begins a manhunt which leads him into increasingly more alarming territory. Anna Pape was not alone in her fate-petite young blond women like Anna are being murdered in cities across America.

And the pattern goes beyond the physical resemblance of the victims-there are disturbing familiarities about the killings themselves that send a chill through even a man as experienced with evil as Bell. If he is right about his fears, then he is on the trail of one of the greatest monsters of his time.

Nobody knows what became of Jack the Ripper - nobody was ever indicted in connection to the London murders attributed to him. Lots of theories are abound to what became of him. Cussler treats us to another -- he never stopped, just changed venue.A string of murders of young women catches the attention of Issac Bell and the Van Dorne agency. As the investigation widens, a pattern emerges...victims are appearing along the route of the traveling production of the show Jekyll and Hyde. The investigation takes Bell to England and back, and he's sure the perp is one and the same.

These are great period books. This one is based on the premise that Jack the Ripper was very young when he committed the Whitechapel murders and then left for America. As usual Issac Bell takes on a missing girl case that turns into a nationwide murder chase.

This seemed quite scripted and weak. Quit following the same outline every time. Very predictable.

A good entry in this entertaining series. Isaac Bell becomes a man on a mission when a young girl he is seeking is found dead. A careful investigation leads to numerous lookalikes to this recent crime. Is the Ripper reincarnated in the United States? A trip to London convinces Bell that there is a connection. Then lots of sleuthing leading to a messy finale.

Isaac Bell fails to save a young girl he is hired by her father to check in on before she is brutally murdered. This leads him on a hunt for the murderer that carries him across into England and completely across the country. A good, enjoyable read.

This is another great Isaac Bell adventure story. Isaac is in pursuit of what is known now as a serial killer and he finally (?) solves the Jack the Ripper mystery which has eluded so many others! In this story, the identity of the villain is kept secret from readers right up to the very end of the book so it is a true whodunit. In earlier books the villain’s identity is revealed sooner in the story and Bell’s chase to catch up to the villain is what keeps the reader interested in finishing the book. Isaac travels outside the USA in this book, which is something new. He goes to Britain in search of information about Jack the Ripper and while there he has a run in with British Intelligence. Of course, Isaac comes out on top in that contest. Will there be a rematch in a later book?As with all the Isaac Bell books, the action is slightly over the top, although that does not detract from the thrill of following Isaac catching the villain. All in all, this is a great read.
