About this audiobook

"Both twisted and twisty, this smart psychological thriller sets a new standard for unreliable narrators." –Booklist, Starred Review

One night three years ago, the Tanner sisters disappeared: fifteen-year-old Cass and seventeen-year-old Emma. Three years later, Cass returns, without her sister Emma. Her story is one of kidnapping and betrayal, of a mysterious island where the two were held. But to forensic psychiatrist Dr. Abby Winter, something doesn't add up. Looking deep within this dysfunctional family Dr. Winter uncovers a life where boundaries were violated and a narcissistic parent held sway. And where one sister's return might just be the beginning of the crime.

Bestselling author Wendy Walker returns with another winning thriller, Emma in the Night.

This is the second Wendy Walker novel I have read and I’ve noticed she is really brilliant at creating complicated family relationships.

I really enjoyed this, it did get a little too wordy at some spots, but nonetheless I loved the mystery.

Cass does really take you for a ride in this story. You really feel for her and for Emma. The characters feel so real it's sad and very disturbing. Getting through the last chapters was both agonizing and sickenning. To know bad people don't get what they deserve incredibly most of the times is sad and unfair and real.
