- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5What a wonderful audio book. What a great man Lawrence was. Truly a feel good story, with sadness along the way, but his undertaking was gratifying for him and the elephants. It makes me happy that someone cared enough to take on the task as it were. I could read or listen to this subject all the time. It’s wholesome and emotional awakening for your senses.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This an intriguing account of Lawrence Anthony's efforts to save a group of elephants from euthanization and poachers. I love that the title does not pertain to his ability to comunicate with elephants, but... instead, to what the author says the elephants "whispered" to him and taught him. I could also feel the passion and love the author had for the elephants despite the fact that I felt there were times that the story could have done with more backstory so that you could understand the whys and hows of certain things. That being said, I'm currently reading the wife's account of everything, An Elephant in My Kitchen, and she seems to be answering all the questions I had from this book. Still ,if you're not up for reading the other 2 books, I think you'll still find this story to be very intresting and eye opening to the world of elephant conservation.
