      I like the story but couldn’t get over the fact that this was supposed to be taking place in the 2000s. Such old vocabulary for the 00’s. We don’t talk like this now, more like 50 years ago

      This book was all over the place and there was no real story line.

      It took me quite a while to get into this book. I am big fan of Mary Monroe but this particular read was a struggle for me. Lola and Joan were kind of annoying to me. Lola was very naive and let her "family" run over her. The book didn't pick up until Calvin was introduced. That is where the book began to pique my interest. I plan to read the next book to follow the characters.
