      Two books within a book. The first is quite interesting, presenting and discussing concepts of hierarchies and networks. The second not so much, as the author tries to apply the aforementioned concepts in order to broadly understand the evolution of human societies. The problem is that the further the author nears modern times, less is his care about the concepts presented and, at least I did, you find yourself in a sea of historical gossips and political opinions. I also have problems on analyzing the evidences presented by the author as a causality matter.
