About this audiobook

How well do you really know your best friend?

Kat Grant and Alice Campbell have a friendship forged in shared confidences and long lunches lubricated by expensive wine. Though they’re very different women—the artsy socialite and the struggling suburbanite—they’re each other’s rocks. But even rocks crumble under pressure. Like when Kat’s financier husband, Howard, plunges to his death from the second-floor balcony of their South Florida mansion.

Howard was a jerk, a drunk, a bully and, police say, a murder victim. The questions begin piling up. Like why Kat has suddenly gone dark: no calls, no texts and no chance her wealthy family will let Alice see her. Why investigators are looking so hard in Alice’s direction. Who stands to get hurt next. And who is the cool liar—the masterful manipulator behind it all.

Can I have 10 hours of my life back? This book was boring and completely predictable. A total cliche.

It was intriguing so it kept me going. However, the main plot twist was disappointing because I was expecting it all along. The other reveals at the end though were eerie and dark. I see that person's POV and while I don't agree fully, I understand why those things were done. Was still worth my time and will still read more from this author.

The ending is completely bone chilling! I sort of expected what was coming but could have never guessed all of it!! One of my favorites.

Only made it to chapter five. I can accept the stereotypical aspects of the story but the continuous flashbacks got me.

I mostly enjoyed this book, but either the author wrote or the narrator spoke "supposibly" rather than "supposedly," so after that I found it hard to enjoy her reading. I also found it annoying that the author used some of the same terminology in quick succession, such as when one placed his hands "jauntily in his pockets." Other than that, the plot was good! I didn't guess the final ending until it was actually unfolding, so that's a win in my book!

I really enjoyed this book. I first and took a little much for me to get used to the narrator's voice because I felt like she was supposed to be a mom in her mid-thirties at least and she sounded like she was barely out of high school. I would have picked a different person I guess because of the sound of her voice. Other than that it was very intriguing it was a bit slow at first but the ending made it so worth it who would have ever saw that coming! the ending left me with chills.

I really enjoyed this author and her books she just writes phenomenal books. In my opinion this is definitely fast pace. Not like a crazy twist you can and know what’s coming, but just the evil in the town that I like.

I enjoyed what I heard of the book but the recording cut out often and usually at critical points! Very frustrating to say the least

Great book!! Loved it from beginning to end. Speaking of which, I did not see the ending coming, not at all. Was very well narrated and interestingly played out. Would definitely recommend.❤️

Well gee... Didn’t see that one coming. Really good psychological thriller. At one point I did feel like the main character got a tad bit annoying like cmon already just do this. But wait a sec, the author brings to point home and shocks you! It was worth the listen.

It started off so well but halfway through it just dragged on and on with Kat's idolization by Alice. I wish the author would have delved deeper into why Kat was like this..or how did Alice come out to be the person she was. And perhaps it's just me, but the ending seemed contrived. It was too easy. I liked how some loose ends were tied together, but that's it .

LOVED this book, just when you think you know what is going on……you are swiftly shifted into another possibility…then another. Extremely good writing, wonderful pondering as to what is really going on…and the ending? Would never have thought it. You have a new fan!

Pretty Good! Slow moving pretty much all the way through, but just interesting enough to keep me listening. It doesn’t get really good until pretty much near the end when all the shocking truths are revealed. Like I said, pretty good. Definitely worth the listen. ☺️
