About this audiobook

The third novel in the beloved Regency-set world of Julia Quinn's charming, powerful Bridgerton family, now a series created by Shonda Rhimes for Netflix. Welcome to Benedict's story . . .

Sophie Beckett never dreamt she would sneak into Lady Bridgerton's famed masquerade ball - or that 'Prince Charming' would be waiting there for her! Though the daughter of an earl, Sophie had been relegated to the role of servant by her disdainful stepmother. But that night, spinning in the strong arms of the debonair and devastatingly handsome Benedict Bridgerton, she felt like royalty. Yet she knows all enchantments must end.

But Sophie has reckoned without Benedict's determined heart: he has sworn to find and wed his mystery miss, for he knows this is his only chance for a fairy tale love . .

Benedict continues to bring the dry sense of humour I love when it comes to this family.

Benedict and Sophie have a Cinderella moment at the beginning of the book and Sophie continues to pretend she isn't who she is for the majority of their encounters. The slow burn was addictive with their little touches and stolen moments. There aren't many Historical Romances that can keep my attention but Julia manages to keep me intrigued from the start. Normally it would be for the spice but I'm solely invested because of the dry sense of humour and family dynamic.

I absolutely adore this family and cannot wait to listen to the next book in the series.

So far my favourite one. A lovely Cinderella narrative, including wicked stepmother and sparkling slippers. Benjamin is so sweet and caring, and loyalty to his masquerade love is very romantic

From the first chapter it was extremely obvious that it was going to be a typical Cinderella story, girls father marries an evil stepmother and has two daughters, father dies, she becomes a servant then gets the “prince” in the end. Unfortunately this fact rendered the story extremely predictable. Still, the story had me needing to know if it really was going to play out that way (and it did). Very enjoyable but not my favourite in the series so far.

    Charming, tender, sweet.

Adored this cinderella-esque story. The biggest surprise of this book was who became my favourite character - Posey!

Sophie & Benedict's story, although slightly predictable, is just lovely however. Thoroughly enjoyed every minute!

It's sweet, though repeats it self a bit and the solution is a touch forced. Still, I enjoyed the romance and the very happy ending.

How is that Collin steals the spotlight in every book he appears lol... We still need to know how the last brother thinks but so far I’m inclined to consider Benedict as Daphne’s male version (I disliked her as an MC), but at least she was entertaining. Now, Cinderella’s stories are not my cup of tea but Sophie was decent so I guess her story was OKAY. In terms of how the story goes, we get to know more of the other Bridgerton girls so that’s a nice contrast with the other two books. I missed Kate, dearly. She’s my fave so far and made me appreciate Mary a whole lot more (I even missed Edwina).

Not as fun as the first two books. It's only fun at the last 10%.
