    Randy Wayne White is the New York Times bestselling and award-winning author of the Doc Ford series. In 2011, White was named a Florida Literary Legend by the Florida Heritage Society.       I confess I love Doc Ford. This one is a little more mental than some, but white has always been a pleasure to read. If you don't know him start with the first in the series.

      I really enjoyed the first 3/4 of this book. The main character is thoughtful, and the author provides a lot of detail about characters and events.

      The final quarter of the book is like a completely different story. The author takes the same care with the elements of the story, its just not the kind of story I generally go for.
