About this audiobook
Nathaniel Bainbridge is used to hiding, whether it's concealing his struggles with reading or his forbidden desire for men. Under the thumb of his controlling father, the governor of Primrose Isle, he's sailing to the fledging colony, where he'll surrender to a respectable marriage for his family's financial gain. Then pirates strike and he's kidnapped for ransom by the Sea Hawk, a legendary villain of the New World.
Bitter and jaded, Hawk harbors futile dreams of leaving the sea for a quiet life, but men like him don't deserve peace. He has a score to settle with Nathaniel's father-the very man whose treachery forced him into piracy-and he's sure Nathaniel is just as contemptible.
Yet as days pass in close quarters, Nathaniel's feisty spirit and alluring innocence beguile and bewitch. Although Hawk knows he must keep his distance, the desire to teach Nathaniel the pleasure men can share grows uncontrollable. It's not as though Hawk would ever feel anything for him besides lust . . .
Nathaniel realizes the fearsome Sea Hawk's reputation is largely invented, and he sees the lonely man beneath the myth, willingly surrendering to his captor body and soul. As a pirate's prisoner, he is finally free to be his true self. The crew has been promised the ransom Nathaniel will bring, yet as danger mounts and the time nears to give him up, Hawk's biggest battle could be with his own heart.

Keira Andrews
After writing for years yet never really finding the right inspiration, Keira discovered her voice in gay romance, which has become a passion. She writes contemporary, historical, paranormal and fantasy fiction, and—although she loves delicious angst along the way—Keira firmly believes in happy endings. For as Oscar Wilde once said, “The good ended happily, and the bad unhappily. That is what fiction means.” You can find out more about Keira and her books at: www.keiraandrews.com

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I love this book! i re-read it every three months or so because it’s so well written and i always have that feeling of adventure afterwards. Nobody builds up the romance like keira andrews and the characters are solid and relatable. I just wish more of her books could be here in audiobook format.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5loved this book when I read it, loved it on audio as well :)
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5The title while accurate doesn't encompass all the things this book truly is. Compelling, sensual, and emotionally intelligent this is one of my new favorites!
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Love this book. Keira Andrews is my favorite. The Audio is good, but the actor makes the pirate's voice sound like a gross toothless old man.... more Fagan from Oliver Twist, than a hot swashbuckler.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Riveting! Like most of Keira's books, "Kidnapped" grabs your attention early & keeps you focused to the last page. It is perfect balance of action, adventure, intrigue, angst, racy erotica, and heart. (Oh the feels! ❤️)
Highly recommend ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5A nice easy story to listen to while I get ready to go home post finals. I really enjoyed this and while it was a bit cheesy at times I did think it was very well done.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Remember the Bodice rippers of the 80's? Those sexy, graphic novels where the young virginal lady gets kidnappedby the hot Pirate.Well here is a terrific version of those books but with a Gay twist.A thrilling plot full of swashbuckling action, and memorable characters.and the HOT sex shivered me timbers! And the sweet romance that develops tugs at the heart.I loved that Nathaniel, the young Lord wants to walk away from hisPrivileged life and live a simple existence. He also has a learning disability, he cannot read. All this makes his character very enduring. This Author has never disappointed me and she excels with this story.Highly recommended!!
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Re-read in July 2020
I really enjoyed it this time around too, despite Nathaniel being a bit too perfect. Tbh I would have loved an ending that was less neat. - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Perhaps even more trope-y than the title suggests. In the first chapter, we learn that Nathaniel is "not like the other boys" (not a direct quote) and hates having to wear confining things like shoes, coats, and wigs. It's such a send-up in that sense, it has to be deliberate, and I love it. I also like seeing a historical romance hero with a learning disability, and that aspect of the book was well-done.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5M/M historical romance. The story was well put together. It held my attention and made my heart race in all the right places.Nathaniel is sailing to a New World Colony with his sister when they are set upon by pirates. As it turns out this is the very Privateer turned pirate at the betrayal of Nathaniel's father. Once the Hawk knows who he has in his midst, he kidnaps Nathaniel as he is the only son and heir of his bitter enemy. Hawk's plan in to ransom Nathaniel and finally visit revenge upon the man that took his legal life as a Privateer away. What Hawk doesn't count on is falling for his captive. Romance, mutiny and adventure ensues. The plot was good, the characters were likeable, the romance was sweet and hot where it needed to be. The narration was spot-on. There was emotion and I felt as though I were truly "hearing" the characters. Job well done.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5I've never read anything else by Keira Andrews but the cover and the title made me giggle so much, I had to buy this. It was a very quick read: tasty, but not particularly nourishing, as my friend Heloise would say. The book follows the (mis)adventures of young Nathaniel Bainbridge in the early 18th century. He is sailing with his pregnant sister to join their father at the new British colony of Primrose Isle in the New World, when their ship is attacked by pirates; and not just any pirates, but the terror of the ocean: the Sea Hawk himself. (Am I alone in detecting a teasing nod to Sabatini?) It just so happens that Captain Hawk is an old enemy of Nathaniel's father and, seeing his chance to gain revenge, he carries off the boy as a hostage. At first, on being locked up in the makeshift prison of the captain's cabin, Nathaniel is terrified; but he rapidly becomes intrigued by the brooding Hawk. For his own part, Hawk wants nothing more than for his prisoner to behave and keep quiet, but as the days pass he finds himself unwillingly attracted by the boy's bright, naive spirit. With one tumultuous adolescent in thrall to his desires, and a world-weary but susceptible older man, I think we all know what's going to happen.Things I enjoyed: the characterisation of the two protagonists, who both had fully worked-out backstories and real personality; the choice of a very outdoorsy unbookish hero in Nathaniel; and the age gap between them (Amazon calls it 'May-December', which is a trifle hard on Hawk: he's only forty - more like 'May-August'). And I just like pirates. I can't help it. There were, however, some drawbacks for me. For example, the book is effectively structured as two action sequences with a long lull in the middle. And that lull is pretty explicit. I fully appreciate that there isn't much to do on a pirate ship, especially one lying idle, and that, if you're seething with desire for each other, you might as well spend every possible moment making the most of it... but there was a little bit too much sex, too often, for my taste. I have read a few other historical romances but I like them to tend on the historical fiction side rather than erotica, which is where this book spent quite a lot of its time. And I suppose I prefer simmering tension as opposed to very frank descriptions. Having said that, I imagine that fans of K.J. Charles and Cat Sebastian will love this. And I still think the cover's brilliant, as a tongue-in-cheek tribute to all those covers with a swooning girl and a brooding rapscallion.
