- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Makes one think about the path to mastery and some insights into how one may achieve it. Some concepts maybe outdated, as this is more than 20 years old now.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Very interesting. I enjoyed his observations about how we Americans see the world and even how we stand and take blows. Then when the master chooses to be buried as a beginner, it really is inspiring!
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5I find this book/ audiobook quite unimpressive. Perhaps my comprehension is not that good, but i find it difficult to understand that author's point. The examples and the analogies are, from my perspective, inappropriate. The flow of thoughts are quite disorganised and jump from one idea to another.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Three thousand pages is the writing objective to Leonard's self mastery complete book.
-Leonard - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This book stresses that we ought to practice and have an open mind if we really want to become master at anything.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5One of the best books ever encountered. It's a truly MUST for everyone. This book undoubtedly knocks it out of the park.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Great variety and deep wisdom about learning and mastery. Loved the section about effective teaching, and all the real life activities which were used as examples.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Full of advice about learning, this book provides readers the philosophy of mastery. Great insights as well as stories were given to reinforce the unhurried nature of mastering a specific domain of knowledge, skills or competencies compared to the present goal oriented learning.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Excellent audiobook that is very relatable and gives good information on how to become a master of anything you desire.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Simple but true and inspiring lessons to be followed and lived in all aspects of life. As a martial artist this speaks to my heart, a great reminder of what it takes and means to be great
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Great book lots of simple directions to follow along to achieve your goals
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5From the summary to the book is a big stretch.
I was OK to listen the summary. However after diving deep into the whole book.. I discovered the genes that have the greatest impact for me.
My biggest take away is to learn to love the plateau with zen awareness instead of the hacker comfort zone. I’m tha plateau is the silence between the notes that makes the music a symphony..
Love it!
Bring it on. Step into the awareness of the moment. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Excellent! Easy read with powerful insights. Are you ready to wear your white belt? ;)
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Loved every second of this beautiful gem. It was actually recommended by Seth Godin, during one of his interviews with Tim Ferriss. After second hearing, I can conclude that it fantastically written, beautifully narrated and truly leaves you with a knowledge for a lifetime. Persuit your own path of mastery and start by reading this book.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Now a classic in the self help category; this little book asks us to resist the temptation to become a "dabbler," and instead stick with something until we excel at it. Motivational and to-the-point. And who doesn't want long-term fulfillment?
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5A book everyone should read, smacks the modern give-it-me-now viewpoint in the face with a dose of stuff-takes-time-so-suck-it-up reality.
