About this audiobook

"Resonance" is supposed to be a dream-that's when your soulmate is chosen for you. And everyone on the ice planet has hooked up with a big, hunky soulmate of their own . . . except me. So do I want a mate? Heck yeah. More than anything, all I've ever wanted is to be loved by someone.

Except that the soulmate chosen for me? My least favorite person on the darn ice planet. Haeden's the most cranky, disapproving, unpleasant, overbearing male alien . . . so why is it that my body sings when he gets close? Why is he working so hard to prove to me that he's not as awful as I think he is?

I hate him . . . don't I?

Contains mature themes.

    I'm 100% here for an alien mate who's
    * Cranky
    * Has a heart of gold
    * Is up for some fierce banter
    * Has a side-shave braid situation
    * Is willing to work through trauma together
    Once again, we have two distinct characters being true to themselves but growing to be better. I started reading the series on January 4th 2022, and it's now the 9th. I WAS going to take a break, in case I got sick of them, but I haven't been able to pull myself away from this world. Existential anxiety crisis imminent, I guess. Earth sucks.

    My favorite so far. I’ve been getting a little bored of the series as it feels like the same story told over and over again.
    Josie is my favorite character so far. Though I still expected more active arguing between her and her mate (where there’s really just silent tension).
    Each woman and mate are different and each story has a bit of a different style to it. But at the root, they are all the same: women take a while to accept resonance, mates are always overly excited to please their women, and there’s a happily ever after.
    I finally feel a bit excited to start the next book, after this one ended.
    But... please... can I just read about one woman who actually DOESNT want children? Hard to believe that out of 12 women, each one actually wants to be a mother.

    After 2 days of trying to explain to my "mate" why I would burst out in laughter, sniffle back a tear, or yell out a "you go girl " I made him listen with me to the audio book.....After 10 minutes he was invested in the story all the way to the end. Is that ?a sign of a good book? You bet !!!!

    This one almost started out as a DNF. Josie was really annoying in the beginning, and it was so bad. I'm glad I stuck with it, though, because it got so much better. I think this might be my favorite story so far.

    This is an 'i don't like you because you don't like me' miscommunication trope. They both felt something when they first met and all his protectiveness is called misogynistic behavior until it's suddenly omg i love you.

    Entertaining. Good male lead.

    As foolish and childish I think Jo is and as surly as he was it was a good book. I loved the bickering between the two and knew there was something between the two from the beginning.

    I was very excited to pick up this book even if I'm not the biggest fan of enemies-to-lovers. But from time to time I really enjoy it, and it was the case this time!
    It was a very enjoyable read BUT there were a couple of things that weren't to my liking. Especially, Josie's behavior. Don't get me wrong, I totally understood where she was coming from (with her backstory and all) and I got why she was the way she was in the present. However, when she was making some progress in her mind and realized how she was treating Haeden, things did not translate into action. It came to a point that she was being stubborn just because. Despite being convinced herself. And that was unfair to poor Haeden.
    But, all in all it was a fun read, as usual with Ruby Dixon.

    Their love development is the best among those that I've read in the series. The spice could've been better. I mean, we got them in the last quarter of the book. Still loved it!
