About this audiobook

Kelly Cannon is satisfied with his life. He has friends, a wonderful family, and a great job. But his love life has reached a new level of pitiful. Why? Well, his heart decided to break all the rules. Don't fall in love with a straight guy. And definitely don't fall in love with your best friend.

NFL standout Britton "Blue" Montgomery has pressure coming at him from all sides. From his father, who's only interested in Blue's football career. From his coaches, who just want him to play without getting injured again. From the fans. From his agent. And from his mother, who has popped up on the radar after leaving his family years before. And now his relationship with Kelly is on shaky ground, and that frightens Blue more than anything.

When Kelly admits he's in love with Blue, bonds are tested, and Blue has to decide what's really important. He doesn't want to lose the number-one person in his life, but the cost to keep Kelly close might be more than he's willing to pay.

It's a good thing his nickname is the Blueprint-it's time to draft a new set of plans.

I loved this! Normally, two different narrators distract me - but not here. The chemistry between Blue and Kelly was off of the charts. I really hope that this is a part of a series.

Kelly’s coming out story to his parents and sister was my favorite part, I’ve never laughed sor hard by myself while my co-workers stared at me probably thinking I was crazy or something, this love story probably doesn’t fall into all the clichés we’re used to hearing all around, although in a perfect world; who wouldn’t love to be reciprocated by a love interest, even if such is a straight man?

The story and characters are great, in intro to More Blue, which is great. I wish the author would give us more about Blue and Kelly.

I was not expecting to love this book as much as I did. I’m normally not a big fan of sport books, but I took a chance on this one and I’m so glad I did. Blue and Kelly were amazing characters. Their banter, sarcasm, and general sassiness had me grinning and laughing. The characters were nothing like I expected when I first read the blurb – they were so much better and way more dynamic and interesting. The plot was the standard best-friends-getting-together with a heavy dose of Gay-For-You and Coming-Out tropes. Those tropes can get pretty boring, but S.E. Harmon did such a wonderful job with creating her characters, that I never got bored. I was completely delighted by this book. I can’t wait to read the sequel now.

I liked Kelly. He's a funny and smart and the way the story goes feels real. Nice narration too

So much better than expected, love the narrators, wit & charm of the characters, honest look at the pitfalls of a pro athlete, and loyalty and friendship. Can’t wait to read A Deeper Blue. Can’t say enough about how remarkably in tune Kelly & Blue are, the banter, intuition, consideration, and dedication is really beautifully written.
One thing that’s odd, Blue plays the field quite freely & is deeply attracted to women at the beginning of the story, he is very over protective & sensitive towards Kelly from the beginning. Maybe being friends from a young age and being as close as brothers enabled Blue to hold Kelly close without needing to address why he was so vested. Absolute great read.

Ok this is super cute. Admittedly part of my love for it could be because the narration was done by Alexander Cendese and I really like his work.

Both guys are really adorable in their own way, well intentioned, so you can't be mad at them even when they're refusing to communicate and insisting on hiding their feelings. One is a bit of a himbo, not fully realizing his feelings, and the other is a bit sarcastic, it's fun to be in his head.

I think this whole book should have been fro only one characters perspective. 90% of the book was anyway. I understand that the other perspective is important so the reader knows for sure everything is ok, making this a fairly low-anxiety book.

I think it's safe to say, I went into this with really, really high expectations, which is rarely a good thing. I liked the premise and the idea of the characters, but I couldn't quite feel the love, and I never felt close to the characters and their struggles. I will say that, I finished this listen in one go, so it's by no means bad, however I kept wanting more throughout the entire thing and felt quite anticlimactic at the end. I'm probably just crazy - ignore me ;)

It was a really addictive audiobook, not a masterpiece but I still enjoyed it so much. The chemistry between the main characters was crazy good.

Unfortunately, this one was just really boring to me. I was excited going in because I liked best friends to lovers books but I hadn't read one in a while. However, I just didn't really enjoy this one.

My overwhelming feeling while reading this was boredom. The summary talked about there being some drama with Blue's family but that barely played a part in the majority of the plot. I think the specific plot line of "guy thinks he's straight but is crushing on his friend and can't figure out his feelings" might not be for me. I find that it's usually not super compelling to me and I always end up just getting annoyed with the characters. There was so much will they, won't they in this book but it wasn't entertaining to me at all.

As far as the relationship went, I could barely see Blue and Kelly as friends, let alone boyfriends. I just didn't feel any connection between them at all and it didn't feel like they treated each other very well. I didn't really care for the sex scenes either. The first few times they got together Blue was pretty drunk and that's just not something I love. There are other ways to show a character letting their guard down and giving into their feelings beyond making them have sex while drunk.

I know there is a direct sequel to this book but I have no interest in it. The ending didn't leave me wanting more and I didn't really like these characters. I don't know what's going to happen with the next book but it seems like it might be Kelly dealing with dating an NFL player and I don't think I'll enjoy that plot any more than I enjoyed this one.

I listened to this in audio for a hot minute, but I hated Alexander Cendese portraying women, and I think I didn't care for the performance overall.

I really enjoyed some dialogue in this fluffy breezy story. Ultimately, though, it's nothing special. Partially because Blue doesn't really have a personality and seemed boring compared to Kelly.
