This is a story about a little mouse called Araminta Thistledown, who moves house. She has chosen to live in a little Cornish village and fishing port called Mousehole (pronounced Mowzel), on the south coast of England. This tells the story of her first day in her new home and of an old friend she visits. She meets Hector who will, in an upcoming Araminta Thistledown book, open up her everyday world into one of adventure and discovery.

The mouse , Araminta is a very well developed and rounded character from the very beginning of the book and one can clearly picture her in her warm little kitchen and sewing room . The scene is set very effectively and with clever creation of atmosphere through the use of most appropriate and emotive vocabulary . it is a most charming story and beautifully narrated . It’s great strength is it’s immediacy - one can really feel the warmth of the kitchen and picture the cherry red range . Children of all ages will love it .

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5My job of reviewing Araminta Thistledown Moves House would be almost impossible without giving certain aspects away, though. All I can say is that the storyline is engaging, the character is adorable, the illustrations in the book are not only in an artistic sense beautiful they make you want to be part of the storyline and jumps straight into it and go with Araminta all the way up and down those acquainted stones streets enjoying every moment with her. So if you don't want to know more – for fear of spoiling it – other than that it's a well-written- beautifully illustrate and engaging - then stop HERE. The rest of you, come with me... x
