- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5This was outrageously boring. The main character is weak, and none of them were interesting enough to care about. The whole plot didn’t even make sense to me - why does she want so desperately to save her father when he’s horrid to her? It’s infuriating. Do not recommend.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5That was fun and exciting. I loved all the characters, even the bad ones. I especially loved the friendship between Kora and Hettie. There were some twists I didnt see coming and loved that too.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Despite some cliché parts I still enjoyed the book, is a good light reading
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This is such a fresh retelling of a well-known myth! I love it!!! Wishing for more romance though. Can't wait for the next book!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Super great job! Plot was great , romance sweet , great adventure , loved each and every character . they were very developed and lots of character growth for many. I loved all the unpredictable moments, I seriously couldn’t put it down. I don’t understand some of the comments on this mentioning it’s predictable. That’s quite the opposite! I felt like they took a well known story and made it their own in every way. I can’t wait for more to come out! And the voice/ narration was amazing! You never know if you’ll get someone that can pull off the men voices and different accents to be able to follow along with all the different characters and they nailed it. I have such a hard time listening to some voices that it can ruin my ability to continue . Super impressed , well done!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I love the plot twist this book has, the love story isn't typical and I really enjoyed the voices of the characters.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5I thought this was a one and done until the last chapter. It's not.
I like the premise of the King Midas's daughter being still damaged by his curse. But Kora was sometimes just too naive for me to appreciate. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Okay, so this book is amazing! This may be one of my favorite review books of the year thus far. "A Touch of Gold" by Annie Sullivan is a delicious, rip-roaring retelling of the King Midas tale. This is a fast-paced adventure with so many wonderful lessons and themes woven seamlessly into the plot. The main character, Princess Kora (King Midas’s daughter) experiences so much character growth over the course of the novel. She sets out to save her father, but along the way, she finds herself. Cue the song, “This is me” from The Greatest Showman (and if you haven’t seen that movie, who are you and what are you doing with your life?)! Kora has to learn to be comfortable with who she is and not hide herself. She starts to really live life and stops hiding, even though she is different. What a great reminder that our past, disabilities or differences should not hold us back from living life to the fullest and loving ourselves in the process! The story itself is fantastic. It reminds me a bit of “Pirates of the Caribbean” mashed up with a gender bender retelling. I love all the mythology in the story and the world Ms. Sullivan creates. Ms. Sullivan often ends chapters with cliff hangers, making the reader not want to put the book down. And the twists in the plot are genius! This is such a wonderful, encouraging and fun read! I would recommend it to teens and adults alike. I must give you fair warning that you might just lose sleep over this book!Content: This is a clean read, especially for being a young adult novel. I give it a PG rating. Some examples of the content are: mention of alcohol; a person is accused of being a demon; a man kills himself; headless bodies; gore related to pirate lore; women showing skin, implying they are prostitutes.Rating: I give this book 5 stars (or 5 touches of gold)!I want to thank Annie Sullivan, BLINK YA books and The Fantastic Flying Book Club for the complimentary copy of this book for review. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I express in this review are my own. This is in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission’s CFR 16, Part 255.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I ADORED this book! I loved the concept and I love reading any books with twists on old mythology. A Touch of Gold is centered on King Midas' daughter. She too is cursed like her father but in a different way; her skin is gold and "things" happen when she comes into contact with gold. For a decade she has been locked in the castle, virtually friendless, but when a thief comes into the castle and steals the precious gold pieces keeping her father alive, she knows she has to act. She secures the help of one of her suitors (the only one that hasn't been terrified at the sight of her) and they set off to reclaim her father's goods and save his life. Along they way they encounter pirates, temptresses, and desires of the heart. It's fast paced, filled with unforgettable characters, romance, adventure, and is full of surprises. I can't wait for the next book in this series!
