About this audiobook

Two people. Ten chances. One unforgettable love story.

Laurie is pretty sure love at first sight doesn't exist anywhere but the movies. But then, through a misted-up bus window one snowy December day, she sees a man who she knows instantly is the one. Their eyes meet, there's a moment of pure magic...and then her bus drives away.

Certain they're fated to find each other again, Laurie spends a year scanning every bus stop and cafe in London for him. But she doesn't find him, not when it matters anyway. Instead they "reunite" at a Christmas party, when her best friend Sarah giddily introduces her new boyfriend to Laurie. It's Jack, the man from the bus. It would be.

What follows for Laurie, Sarah and Jack is ten years of friendship, heartbreak, missed opportunities, roads not taken, and destinies reconsidered. One Day in December is a joyous, heartwarming and immensely moving love story to escape into and a reminder that fate takes inexplicable turns along the route to happiness.

Editor's Note

Lovely love story. I was completely absorbed and living inside this book, when I began it over Christmas and listened to it throughout a week in Winter. Just dreamy-read it in the winter, it is adorable.

This book was underwhelming. 90% of the book I was annoyed/frustrated and waiting for the ending. Not the best feeling for a book. On the flip side, I LOVED the narration. The witty banter of the lead character was also entertaining! It’s just the love story portion that was meh.

Absolutely loved listening to this on audiobook while on a long road trip! I saw this book on Reese’s Book Club list and decided to try it out. The narrator had a lovely voice, I’m very picky about audiobooks, but found this one to be perfect. I never wanted to stop listening and it made the time go by so quickly. The story was fabulous. Light and funny, exactly what I look for in this type of book. Hope others enjoy it as much as I did.

Very sweet book. The Laurie was a little whiny at the beginning but I liked how her character grew up. Enjoyed the secondary character as well.

Like what the hell? That was just uwjxkdnsbzkabd I can’t. It starts with love at first sight which I’m fine with since it was advertised as that and I knew it going in. But then the whole book is dumb and just road block after MAJOR road block for them being together just to claim in the end that they’ve always been 100% in love with each other. Like if they were that in love than they have made horrible friends, partners, and spouses! Like you can’t have your characters get married and have a life with others and expect me to 1. Believe that they’ve always only been fully in love with each other and 2. If that’s true than expect me to see them as anything less than crappy people. It was very much like The Light We Lost and I disliked it for almost all the same reasons. This was a book that couldn’t have disappointed me more. I wanted a cute Christmas romance and I got an annoying decade long soap opera following two basically horrible people.

This was only my second audio book ever, but I absolutely loved it. The narrators (wonderfully British) did a fantastic job of bringing Laurie and Jack to life.

I was so incredibly invested in this story that I was freaking out to my friends this morning, worried I wasn’t going to get the outcome I wanted. I mean, we’ve all been there ??‍♀️

This book is almost indescribable for me, with the perfection of it all.

I think my favorite part is how real his book felt. This could have happened to me, and that’s such a strange feeling. This book takes place over years (2008-2017 if I’m remembering correctly) and it’s so great to watch these characters grow and change!
I don’t think I have a single complaint about this book. I truly loved it all.

DNF - Disappointed with the little bit that I read. I had hoped for something else something better but it was looking like a soap opera when I was hoping for more like a meet cute/hallmark romance story. I also didn't feel like reading more after the F bombs started. Oh well, I'll do read Christmas by Accident instead because that sounds much better to me.
