About this audiobook
‘Fiendishly clever… A thoroughly absorbing, gripping read’. Clare Chase
Oxford, 1960. In the glorious sunshine of Oxford, on a day when everyone should be celebrating, tragedy strikes when a university student is found floating in the river, dead.
Probationary WPC Trudy Loveday finds herself paired with coroner Clement Ryder to investigate and it soon becomes clear that this case is not going to be easy.
The witnesses all refuse to give a straight answer, each new lead sends them in a new direction and tales of other missing youngsters add further mystery to the investigation.
One thing is certain though, something doesn’t seem quite right about the university’s most popular student….
A gripping, twisty cozy crime novel that you won't be able to put down. Perfect for fans of Agatha Christie, Richard Osman and M.C. Beaton.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Although only the second novel in this series it was a very strong mystery and the rapport between the two main characters continues to develop nicely.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5It's summer in Oxford of 1960, close to the end of term. While students are celebrating with a picnic next to the river, a body is discovered in the water. Coroner Ryder is suspicious of the cause of death and recruits WPC Loveday to assist him in his investigation.
Another good well-written mystery in this series. - Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5I think the fatal mistake was reading it as this style is not really to my taste, but I suppose it does capture 1960s Oxford life.
