About this audiobook
In this enchanting sequel to the number one bestseller The Five People You Meet in Heaven, Mitch Albom tells the story of Eddie’s heavenly reunion with Annie—the little girl he saved on earth—in an unforgettable novel of how our lives and losses intersect.
Fifteen years ago, in Mitch Albom’s beloved novel, The Five People You Meet in Heaven, the world fell in love with Eddie, a grizzled war veteran- turned-amusement park mechanic who died saving the life of a young girl named Annie. Eddie’s journey to heaven taught him that every life matters. Now, in this magical sequel, Mitch Albom reveals Annie’s story.
The accident that killed Eddie left an indelible mark on Annie. It took her left hand, which needed to be surgically reattached. Injured, scarred, and unable to remember why, Annie’s life is forever changed by a guilt-ravaged mother who whisks her away from the world she knew. Bullied by her peers and haunted by something she cannot recall, Annie struggles to find acceptance as she grows. When, as a young woman, she reconnects with Paulo, her childhood love, she believes she has finally found happiness.
As the novel opens, Annie is marrying Paulo. But when her wedding night day ends in an unimaginable accident, Annie finds herself on her own heavenly journey—and an inevitable reunion with Eddie, one of the five people who will show her how her life mattered in ways she could not have fathomed.
Poignant and beautiful, filled with unexpected twists, The Next Person You Meet in Heaven reminds us that not only does every life matter, but that every ending is also a beginning—we only need to open our eyes to see it.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I am always afraid with this type of books, that the author might try to take the story further than it should. But as always Mitch Albom didn't disappoint, this was a heart-warming story that reminds us of how precious and fragile life can be.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I enjoyed this book immensely as well as the previous book. Both books were filled with human feelings and conditions. You can actually feel what the characters are going through, their highs and lows. I recommend it highly.
- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5didn't find anything too profound as i expected to do
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5In the Next Person, you meet in Heaven Mitch Albom introduces us to Annie who at the beginning of this book as a little girl. Annie the little girl who was saved at by Uncle Eddie, an amusement park mechanic who thought his life didn't matter. Eddie was a wounded war veteran. On Eddie's 83rd birthday, a tragic accident kills him, as he tries to save a little girl from a falling cart. This is where the 5 people you meet in heaven ends.
The sequel begins with the little girl is Anne. We watch Annie struggle with being different in school and being bullied and her misunderstood relationship with her mother.
The book reminds you, everyone struggles, mistakes are ok, we learn from them. There are many lessons but my favorite is Annie gets a dog and later the dog comes back to her when Annie dies after a hot air balloon accident and told Annie if she would not have been lonely she would not have had the great life she had. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Painfully beautiful! Did not expect the outcome of the story!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Tremendously touching and vulnerable. I highly recommend it to those, who have questions and doubts to read/listen to this book. Let it give you some insights.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5The ending unexpectedly made me teary-eyed. Definitely recommend reading to anyone who wants a raw and truly emotional book that is very real.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5The best book that made my life in better place.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This piece of literature I must say is multi dimensional. I love how the writer is able to dart artfully between the present and the past and the Earthly space and the ethereal. W. Thomas

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Another good book from Mitch Albom exploring heaven. This sequel follows up the The Five People You Meet in Heaven and follows another character and you watch their life re-examined. If you liked Mitch's other books you will like this one too.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I thought this was a wonderful book. I knew where it was going along the way, but I still cried at the end. Such a wonderful story.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I'm a sucker for his books.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Simple, but slightly heartbreaking and very heartwarming.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Different from the first one but just as good with a surprise twist. It is very interesting how Albom flirts with theology but never crosses over. Who knows how Heaven really works? Only those who are there and nobody has come back to tell us.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5Not nearly as good as the original
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5We first met Annie in a previous tale about heaven. Now, we learn about Annie’s life, what happened to her after her accident at the amusement park, how she spent her childhood, how she grew up and fell in love, and how she came to be in heaven. We also get a glimpse of others there, including Eddie, the maintenance man who saved her, and we share in the lessons that Annie discovers. This is a version of heaven that the author imagined; it is a novel and not meant to sway anyone’s way of thinking. But it does show how one person can affect another, in unseen ways, and how it all comes together in the end. Annie meets her five people in heaven, and through their connections to her life, she finds the answers that have eluded her while on earth. This thought-provoking sequel packs much power in its pages, and is every bit as good as the first novel.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5In “The Five People You Meet in Heaven,” war veteran Eddie dies in a tragic accident at the amusement park where he works. He’d tried to save a little girl from a falling cart.“The Next Person You Meet in Heaven” is the sequel to that remarkable book. It is Annie’s story, revealing what happened to the little girl Eddie saved on that fateful day. [Read the bonus chapter in the Barnes and Noble exclusive edition of this book for a charming glimpse into Eddie’s life.]The amusement park accident leaves its mark on little Annie, and she grows up unable to remember what happened that day. Her guilt-ridden mother whisks her away to Arizona where, haunted by a past she cannot remember, she endures the bullying of cruel classmates and struggles to find a shred of acceptance.Certain that everything she does ends up being a mistake, Annie believes she’s finally done the right thing when she marries her childhood love. But her wedding night ends with an incomprehensible tragedy, one that sends Annie heavenward to meet five people who will explain how her life touched others in ways she’d never even begun to imagine.Filled with surprising reveals, unexpected twists, and a last-minute revelation readers won’t see coming, this memorable narrative is one to treasure. The unfolding, heart-wrenching story is immutable in its affirmation, eloquent in its passion, gentle in its enduring wisdom, sacrosanct in its unrelenting hope. It’s magic of the most amazing kind, reminding readers that every ending is also a beginning. Readers should put this book on the top of their must-read piles and then keep it handy . . . they’ll find themselves reaching for it over and over again. Highly recommended.
