About this audiobook

A popular minimalist blogger and author of The More of Less shows you how to methodically turn your home into a place of peace, contentment, and purposeful living.

One of today's most influential minimalist advocates takes us on a decluttering tour of our own houses and apartments, showing us how to decide what to get rid of and what to keep. He both offers practical guidelines for simplifying our lifestyle at home and addresses underlying issues that contribute to overaccumulation in the first place.

The purpose is not just to create a more inviting living space. It's also to turn our life's HQ — our home — into a launching pad for a more fulfilling and productive life in the world.

Very practical information to help with minimizing all the unnecessary stuff that has been accumulated over the years. The author does a good job of explaining the benefits of minimizing and providing tips to start in a way that isn’t so overwhelming. I have started and will continue little by little until I get rid of the clutter.

It seems to be a tendency among writers on minimalism that they put the least work possible into their books. Lots of theory and generalities, but not much substance or how-to. In this genre, there's a ton of cop-out writing lacking integrity. This book is much more specific and helpful (where to start, actionable steps, how to maintain) and doesn't assume you are a single person with an uncomplicated life. Gets into the trade-offs more and why minimalism is worth it. Very practical. Occasional mispronunciation of words. Mentions church, faith, etc. a bunch of times in respect to the benefits in his life, but the specific approach he advocates does not require a specific religious bent.

He went through all the rooms, the book lasted 8 hours but it could easily be only 6. It is long but it is good.

This book probably is very useful, but I couldn't get past how incredibly boring the narration is, how long it takes him to make a point and how repetitive he is (maybe he should try a minimalist approach to his worrying), and his proselytizing.
