About this audiobook

Forensic artist Hannah Perry's skills make her a valuable asset to the police in solving criminal investigations.

Now she's taking a much-needed vacation on a secluded island with her young son. But a young woman has been murdered. Her body unidentified. Her skull recently discovered by the police, and Hannah feels compelled to help find the killer. She decides to work on the reconstruction in the evenings while her son sleeps. But as the woman's face takes shape, an assailant invades Hannah's cabin and tries to end her life. Before he can permanently silence her, she and her son flee the island in a small boat. Trouble is, as they approach Cold Harbor, ocean waves capsize the boat, enveloping them both in cold terror.

But it also makes her the next target.

Former SEAL Gage Blackwell can't believe his eyes as he plunges into the raging waters to rescue the pair. Owner of Blackwell Tactical-a law enforcement training facility and protection services agency-Gage pulls the woman he once loved from the angry ocean. When he learns of her attack, he vows to protect her while hunting down the killer. Alone and vulnerable, Hannah has to accept Gage's protection-even if it means staying close to the man who'd once walked out on her without a backward glance.

Kind of an interesting story but I felt the writing was weak and the narration was horrendous.

The book starts off with action and never ends which kept me on the edge of my seat. I liked Hannah right away. I loved reading about her job as a forensic sketch artist. It is a very rewarding job that can give closure to families. After losing her husband in a tragic accident, Hannah is trying to pick up the pieces of her life.Taking a vacation with her son seemed like a great idea until danger enters her cozy little cottage. The struggle she had with the intruder was intense and I held my breath as she tries to escape. When Gage is introduced in the story , I instantly liked him. I love stories about Navy Seals and their determination to do their mission. It was interesting to read that Hannah and Gage knew each other. There is definitely some friction between the two, but Gage is going to keep Hannah and her son safe at all costs. Hannah seems a bit hesitant to trust Gage. Will she allow Gage to do his job and catch whoever is after her? I loved how Hannah began to realize that God had a plan for her. When something goes wrong in your life, you tend to blame God. You forget that he has never left you. The fact that Hannah finally grasped that helped her to learn to trust Gage. The story is a great start to a new series that promises intense action and characters that jump off the pages. I really enjoyed the time Hannah and Gage spent together letting each other know of pain from their past. The author does a great job of allowing us to see the vulnerable side of Gage. He is a tough guy and is fierce at his job, but he lets his guard down a bit when he is around Hannah. The ending is high caliber action. I can't forget to mention how creative the author is about how Hannah is being tracked by someone who wants her dead. It's a very well written story that reminds us to forgive, trust God and never give up.I received a copy of this book from the author. The review is my own opinion.

No! I can’t believe this story is over. It ended way too soon. Cold Terror by Susan Sleeman is the first in her Cold Harbor series. Hannah is on vacation with her five-year-old son when someone attacks her and almost kills her. She flees into the night only to have to be rescued from the angry waves of the lake by a man she thought she’d never see again. When Gage learns that Hannah is in danger he brings in Blackwell Tactical, his team of specialists, to protect her and her son. Will they be able to figure out who is after her before he gets too close? Susan again weaves a suspense filled story for her readers. From the very first page you were on the edge of your seat. I always love how she drops in the spiritual battles that the characters are going through; but she doesn’t overwhelm the story with it or cause the story to slow down. Her characters are always every-day, down to earth people that are believable characters. In the story I liked how Gage knew his limits and trusted his team to do their best to fill in t he gaps with their own special abilities. I can’t wait to read more about this team. I received this e-book from the author in exchange for my honest review.
