About this audiobook
"A deliciously Agatha Christie-style mystery that sucks you in from the first page." Sibel Hodge…
Imagine nine women meeting. Tea and cake are on the coffee table. They've come together to share their love of books. They are friends. They trust each other. It's a happy gathering. What could be more harmless? Scratch the surface and look closer. One is lonely, one is desperate and one of them is a killer. When the body of a woman is discovered on a Cambridge common, DCI Barrett and DI Palmer are called to investigate. But the motive behind the crime isn't clear… and it all leads back to a book club. As the lies, volatile friendships and tension among the group rise to the surface, DCI Barrett and DI Palmer must work out the motive and track down a cold-blooded killer. But just when they think they are on the right track, a twist in the case throws them off course… Betsy Reavley is the best-selling author of multiple thrillers including The Opticians Wife, The Quiet Ones and Frailty. This title is an unmissable new whodunnit, which will appeal to fans of authors like Cara Hunter, Rachel Abbott, Faith Martin and LJ Ross.

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Entertaining read but I found the mystery a bit lacking. True, I didn't know who the killer was until the very end and the motives were believable but overall I didn't find it as suspenseful as I would have liked. I'd also loved to have seen the aspect of the book club a bit more explored.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Nicely paced, enjoyable read. I'd like to see more books with the ladies from the book club
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5A bunch of nasty, jealous, unlikeable characters and a predictable murder and resolution
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Absolute WHODUNNIT mystery thriller fun. You can never go wrong with this type ??♀️❤️
- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5The narration was abysmal couldn’t get past chapter 1. The narrator reminded me of the narration from the cheesy reality show, The Only Way is Essex
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Betsy Reavley has done it again! I know I can count on her works for a wicked tale.
I really enjoyed this, it was different from her other works which are super dark but I loved the messed up characters, bitchy and backstabbing. Didn’t really like the ending, I suspected it would be them but wanted it to be a bit more twisted. Still a solid read! - Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5Honestly did not care for this at all. I did not like how catty the women in the book club were to one another.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Honestly didn’t like it but I was invested and had to know how it ended. Pretty predictable ending. There were really only a few characters I liked.
