About this audiobook
The swooning ladies of the Victorian Age and the suburban housewives of the 1950s genuinely needed to be liberated. That much is indisputable. So, First-Wave feminists held rallies for women’s suffrage. Then, Second-Wave feminists marched for Prohibition, jobs, and abortion. Today, Third-Wave feminists stand firmly for nobody's quite sure what. But the modern woman—who uses psychotherapeutic drugs at a rate never before seen in history—needs liberating now more than ever. The truth is, feminists don’t know what liberation is. They have led us into a very boring dead end.
Eve in Exile sets aside all stereotypes of mid-century housewives, of China-doll femininity, of Victorians fainting, of women not allowed to think for themselves or talk to the men about anything interesting or important. It dismisses the pencil-skirted and stiletto-heeled executives of TV, the outspoken feminists freed from all that hinders them, the brave career women in charge of their own destinies. Once those fictionalized stereotypes are out of the way—whether they're things that make you gag or things you think look pretty fun—Christians can focus on real women. What did God make real women for?

- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5Sigh. Matthew 23:4
This book is basically one woman’s opinion on how every Christian family should function.
Her lack of evidence, and misleading accounts of feminist history would be amusing if the book wasn’t passed around like gospel truth.

- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5She lacked thorough research or data to support her points. She makes a weak argument, mostly just fussing over personal frustrations and annoyances. Overall rather disappointing.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Wonderful history of feminism and a Biblical perspective on the glory found in the role women have in healing our broken nation. This book will make most women uncomfortable and when you feel triggered to stop the book I urge you to finish it. Ask yourself why you feel uncomfortable and where your preconceived notions originated from. We are strong enough to walk through the discomfort of identifying the cultural lies we have been marinating in. There is so much joy and purpose in our God given role. The author does a wonderful job of highlighting how women are an essential part of the Lord’s plan and showing how much glory comes from our obedience to Him.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I wish every Christian woman would read this book. And honestly every other woman too, but it makes the most sense from a Christian mindset. I feel like it showed me my birthright and freed me from the condemnation of not wanting a man’s life. It is common sense, accurate, and not only points out problems but offers solutions. Highly recommend.

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5The book was interesting from a historical point of view on feminism. There were several good points within the book on being a woman, but I feel like some of the theology and solutions suggested were off.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5A HUGE round of applause. I will from now on gift this book to all the women in my life.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5A book every Christian woman needs needs needs to listen to. So SO GOOD and encouraging!! And empowering!!

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This has been an amazing book, very sobering and has shone light to the feminist lies that had been sold to me and had greatly influenced my thoughts and actions subconsciously. May the Lord help us. To be the change and to glorify God by simply being women!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5It brings out the amazing possibilities of a christian woman.
Using her imagination and talents to create a home that God intended it to be. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5A call to arms for women in taking back our nation, one home at a time. Insightful, convicting and entertaining! EVERY Christian woman should read it.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Rebekah does such a good job at giving you a timeline of the waves of feminism and then pointing out all the ways it has so badly influenced our nation. She speaks truth into how women are unique and different than men and how we are called to take abstract things and beautify them, especially in the home.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Excellently written with inspirational wisdom, recommended for all to read but especially women!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Wow wow wow. A book every woman needs to hear. Taking a biblical and factual look at feminism it’s history and effect be it good or bad. Has it fixed the initial problems that prompted it? If not then how should we respond and find thriving and fulfilling lives.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Such a thoughtful reflection of where our society has come to be.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5So encouraged by the reminder of the Biblical perspective of the beauty of being a woman of the home.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Truly, truly shifted my view and perspective. Amazingly bold, articulate, empowering and challenging. The author gives a balanced call out of our times supplied with ample evidence. I absolutely loved it.
- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5Horrible theology. Merkle clearly doesn’t comprehend hermeneutics, which isn’t surprising given that she has been raised under her father’s teaching who has no legitimate pastoral or biblical training. This book falls under false teaching. Mark and avoid.
