Remember how I said Ruthless was six kinds of crazy? Well, Stunning was at least seven kinds. What should I get into first? Aria's boyfriend Noel's father is a secret but not so secret cross dresser? Some rich woman, with connections to Tabitha, is a psycho after Emily's baby? Hanna channels her inner A to win Mike back? Or Spencer becomes Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds? It's all of that and A too.

These books are an absolute guilty pleasure! There is a lot of unwarranted hate out there. They have always been out there. I mean, how plausible is Wanted, seriously? However, the plausibility is not what makes these books great? It's the addiction of the series. I've said before: Sara Shepard knows how to write for the teenage girl. The isolation, insecurity, self-doubt, manipulation and overall bitchiness of the teenage girl.

I can't wait to read the next one!

I read Stunning by Sara Shepard. It was about 4 teenage girls, Emily, Spencer, Aria and Hanna, living in Rosewood, Pennsylvania, who have had crazy lives. Witnessing murders, murdering people and fearing for their dirty secrets will be revealed by their stalker named -A. They suspect -A is a 40 year old woman named Gayle who wants to steal Emily’s newborn baby. When -A sends them an anonymous text saying she has the baby, the girls race to Gayle’s house. When they arrive they see Gayle get shot by the real -A. But before they can see who shot her -A escapes and the police show up, thinking the girls murdered Gayle. Stunning by Sara Shepherd is the eleventh installment of the Pretty Little Liars series. It was suspenseful and always left you hanging. I loved it! I’ll give it 4 out of 5 stars. I just didn't like be so paranoid after I read any of it. Perfect for any fan of the series or just any teenage girl who likes mysteries. Very good book overall, never a dull moment.

***spoilers below***Cross dressers? Sara's really scraping the bottom of the barrel here. Maybe it's because I know there's only one left, but I didn't mind this one as much. That being said, it was still pretty awful when it came to factual/realistic information.Emily has a caesarean section and that very night she and all her friends sneak Emily and the baby out of the hospital and dump the newborn on a doorstep of people Emily was going to give her baby too. Medically impossible. A young girl whose just had a baby surgically gutted from her stomach is on so many drugs she would be out of it for at least 24 hours. And there is no way she would be able to travel or walk. That whole scenario was just utterly stupid. As is Emily's whole storyline this book. She meets Gayle who offers her 50 grand for her baby and Emily excepts. It's only later does she realize that might be a little strange and renegs on the deal. But this is Pretty Little Liars, so Gayle is mental and starts stalking Emily demanding what she's owed. Poor baby-starved Gayle is murdered at the end and is pregnant, so there's a kick in the guts. But of course none of our four protagonists care about this. Hanna is over Mike, until she sees him with another girl, Colleen, who seems perfectly lovely and is always nice to Hanna despite Hanna being a bitchy "A" and trying to dig up dirt on Colleen to get Mike back. It works. Vomit, who cares? Mike is one of the worst characters in the books.Aria sees Noel's dad dressing up as a woman, so A tells Aria to break up with Noel. She does, then finds out Noel knows his Dad likes to play dress-up and they get back together. Boring. A random inconsistency that bugged me was Emily is constantly saying that the family she dumped her baby on the doorstep of must have quickly left the neighbourhood so as not to rouse suspicion. Fair enough, people would noticed that a family without a baby suddenly came into one. So it makes sense that they would move, but they took the time to paint the baby's name on the wall of her bedroom? Violet. Why? If they don't want people to know they have a baby, don't put said baby's name on display in a home that they then allowed to have an open house to any and all people. I assume it was just the author's tactic for having Emily find out the baby's name, but like most parts of these novels its unrealistic. I could go on. I really could. But I won't. If you've spared yourself from this series, I envy you! At least there's only one more to go!

I have to admit: I was a little annoyed when Sara Shepard decided to write more of this series after the great, supposed to be, ending in Wanted. However, I kept reading, and I'm glad she continued because, as crazy as they all are, I can't get enough of these characters. I watch the TV show, too, and, while I enjoy that, the books are MUCH better, of course. (I just have to think of them as two separate things.) Anyway, Stunning, the most recent addition, was a lovely one. Like all of the others, it kept me hooked wanting to know what would happen. Even though I guessed part of the ending, like always, I was surprised by other parts of it. Aria and Spencer are my typical favorites, but in this book, I actually liked Emily more than Spencer, and I normally find her annoying. Hanna, as always, makes me laugh. Something about how she goes about solving her problems is just a little too ridiculous, but still great, because it's Hanna. Anyway, these four girls are crazy and get even more crazy and paranoid in this book, but it's still so good, even though it's ridiculous. Yes, I would continue reading the series if you have gotten this far, and if you haven't, you totally should.
