About this ebook
Sandy Kinsolving's once-glittering life hangs by a threat; his future depends on his wife's inheritance and whether or not she's about to throw him out on his ear. What he wouldn't give for a solution to his money and marriage problems.
If this were an Alfred Hitchcock movie, the solution would be obvious. Enter a stranger with wife problems of his own, who offers a violent -- and mutually advantageous -- proposal.
Them in the time it takes to whisper a word, Kinsolving's normal life ends. What radiates like a mirage before him is wealth, security, and freedom. But lurking in the shadows are a brutal murder he cannot prevent, and a madman who stalks his every waking moment.

- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5A silly pastiche of Strangers on a Train, but without the psychological insight. Just a book to showcase how much Woods thinks he knows about the upper class, American lifestyle. Lots of references to snooty wines, hotels, restaurants and private planes. The protagonist buys houses on the Vineyard, a winery and lots of other toys. Yawn. And lets not get started on the dialog - who talks like this? One minute he's trying to roughen up a mechanic/pilot's speech by peppering in swears, 'pal' and 'fella' and the next the guy's using the word phraseology. Talk about a tin ear for dialog. And then there's the sappy romance and cut out bad guy. Kicking this one to the curb.
