Noah Adams initiated the countdown toward the start of an ambitious attempt to end global warming. Safe in the confines of their geothermic cooled life-bubble beneath the surface of the Atlantic Ocean, they prepared to fire the nuclear propulsion devises designed to increase Earth’s orbit and lower its surface temperature. Their command center resembled the confined interior of a submarine. The long narrow room creaked and groaned under the pressure of the deep-sea trench.
He spoke to his supervisor. Miss Hartley. Do you know the proper research to attempt such a planetary course adjustment would take decades?
Eva Hartley turned with glassy sapphire eyes framed in gold wire-rimmed glasses. You know as well as I, we don't have any more time.
Her smooth complexion and flowing black hair concealed her substantial accumulation of knowledge.
Noah continued his calculations. But we’re almost certainly sending ourselves to our doom.
Just let the physicists worry about that. As long as you’re calculations are correct, everything will go as planned.
Eva glanced toward the large group of elite academia gathered behind the glass wall running the entire length of the control bunker. Hundreds of solemn eyes looked out from a dimly lit room.
