About this ebook

You would think after helping save her boyfriend from an eternity in Hell that things would go back to normal. Well, as normal as life can be when you can see souls and your boyfriend is Death. But for Pagan Moore, things are just getting weirder.

The high school quarterback and reigning heartthrob, Leif Montgomery, is missing. While the town is in a frenzy of worry, Pagan is a nervous wreck for other reasons. Apparently good ‘ol Leif isn’t your average teenage boy. He isn’t even human. According to Death, Leif doesn’t have a soul. The quarterback may have skipped town but he’s still showing up in Pagan’s dreams... uninvited.

Dank has known from the beginning Leif wasn’t human. But he hadn’t worried about a simple soulless creature. Now, he realizes he made a grave mistake. Pagan’s soul has been marked since birth as a restitution, to a spirit so dark not even Death walks near it. Dank knows saving Pagan’s soul won’t be easy but Pagan is his. And he’s already proven he’ll defy Heaven to keep her. If Hell wants a piece of him too, then bring it on.

Do I need to repeat myself? Oh. My. God. Need I say more? Okay just a bit more, Abbi Glines as done it again. Abbi has the ability to evoke many different emotions from just one book with her story telling. Speaking of emotions, the last sentence of every chapter ends eliciting many (emotions) from me. Somewhere along the line of reading I found myself at the end of a chapter, gasping, laughing, sighing, swooning, cursing, and saying things like "Are you freaking kidding me?", etc. Every chapter seems to ends with a surprise, which I loved, never read anything like that before, it was entertaining, and kept me absorbed. I had the same reactions-plus at the beginning, middle, over and under every chapter as well.

Dank still has me in a trance with his very maleness, very overprotective and bad ass. I have to say I also like Pagan a lot, I'm always afraid she's going to be the typical heroine and be slow to realize she has another option. She always quickly remembers Dank loves her and she can trust him. Good girl.

Can't wait to move on the next one and see how Abbi Glines will put me in a swoony emotional mess again.

This is my second audiobook review for Existence series. Predestined answers a lot of questions, which should have made me like this book. Sadly, the likes were over-shadowed by other aspects of this book. Predestined is the conclusion of Pagan and Dank's relationship. The couple should be busy loving on one another while Dank resumes his responsibility of taking souls from their bodies and passing them on to Transporters (the figures who take souls away to their next lives). Instead, Leif is back and doing his best to claim Pagan as his own. The first thing that turned me away from liking this book is the ambiance. For some reason, the innocence of the first book vanished, swallowed whole by profanity, sex and extreme jealousy! Dank has turned into the boyfriend fromhell! I don't understand why but it seems as though Dank doesn't care for romance and subtly anymore. Now that Pagan knows what he is and how Leif isn't quite who he claims to be either, it's okay to be nasty and possessive. Well, they both are possessive. It's funny, both are bad, but one claims evil over the other. It's a quality in the book that's a turn off. Other than that, I enjoyed Predestined, so much more than the first. The flashbacks of the tale explained much of the "why's" I carried who e reading book one, but I have to state that the entire book was slightly clouded by the narrator yet again. Liz's voices were so awful, I almost didn't want to finish the series. Thankfully, I ignored myself and her voices and completed the book. Happy reading everyone!

Well. That was not what I was expecting! I have read a few different books with Voodoo, so it was hard to forget how it worked in those books to adapt to how they worked in this one. That being said I enjoyed it. I am still trying to figure out how I feel about Dank though! Usually I can pick a side immediately but there is someone else mentioned that I just can't help but think about. It is hard for me to like Dank when he knows Jay is her soul mate. I think if he loves her then he will let her be with him. Her soul is his other half! Maybe things will change in the next book! Anyways I am hooked on this series! Starting Leif (Book 2.5) now!

THE COVER I have mixed feelings for this one. I love the picture of the girl with those fiery eyes of hers, but the font's not doing it for me.THE STORYLet me get it out: I liked Predestined more than Existence. The story flow was way better, and the other characters were expounded. Glines explained the reason why Pagan could see souls, and also Dank's last words in the first book. One thing I didn't get was the voodoo world. Was it supposed to be hell, or just an evil dimension?THE CHARACTERSPagan showed some attitudinal improvements; she's tougher and more determined. Unfortunately, she still had to be saved. Why can't Glines make her more able?As for Dank, he was quite the disappointment in this. He did either of these two things: take souls or save Pagan. Yes, that was it. But he's still swoon-worthy.And Leif is back! Honestly, if I were Pagan, I would've gone with Leif just to get everything over with.MY FAVORITE PART was Pagan in the voodoo world. I loved the idea of that place.

This is the sequel to Existence and really cannot be read before you read book one. The author wrote it in a manner where you can, but you’ll miss so much. Pagan knows who her true love is, Death, but now there is more to an ex-boyfriend that meets the eye. He is the Prince of Voodoo and was promised her soul when she was a child. Now, he wants it, but he also wants her love.If you loved the second book, let me warn you before you go into this one. It is a little different. The pace is about the same, but now that Dank can call Pagan his own, everything has a more sinister look. You’ll find yourself in Pagan’s past reliving her childhood and discovering old friend she had forgotten. I found that it was still a great story with the sensual tension still present but not quite the same as now they are a couple with trouble. It moves a long quickly with several twists and turns. The plot is well-done and keeps you wondering about Leif and a few others. The characters are all unique and have great personalities that continue throughout the story. I love Gee. She is a hot. There is some language and sexual references. Though the characters on in high school, this is a little intense for that age, then again…. An F-bomb is dropped a few times.I found myself enjoying the story. Loved the first one best, but then it was the beginnings of love. So that makes a big difference. If you liked Existence, you need to read this book.Note: I received this book from Amazon with my own money with no expectation of a positive review.

I do also love Miranda quite alot. "She’s mine. That’s your one and only warning." -Dank "Death" Walker"I felt a wetness in my eyes and I blinked confused from the strange sensation. A small trickle of water ran down my cheek. I stared into the darkness as I held Pagan in my arms in amazement. Death had just shed a tear.” -Dank "Death" Walker“Would you tell Dank that I will alway love him? That I'm sorry that I can't leave here. I'm protecting those I love. But I will think of him every day and I will hum his song to myself every night as I go to sleep.” -Dank "Death" Walker

This is one of the rare incidences where I actually like the sequel better than the first book. I really enjoyed the alternating point of views and it was captivating to get inside Dank’s head. I think it made him more likable, especially since at times he comes off as a jealous jerk. The love scenes were great and it was another suspenseful novel. I would give it four and a half stars out of five. The only reason I’m taking away 1/2 a star is because the ending was kind of ho-hum. The conflict was resolved very quickly and the twist at the end was sort of predictable.

While “Predestined” is the middle book of a trilogy…it was not a typical middle book. This story, while a continuation of “Existence”, stands on it’s own. It was a complete story, and a fascinating one at that. And true to form, Abbi leaves us with a killer last sentence, setting up the next book.“Predestined” explores the realm of other, lesser, deities. We learn what the deal is with Leif, and while he may be soulless, he certainly isn’t heartless. Abbi continues to be Abbi…willing to do anything and everything to keep those she loves safe and sound. There is some huge heartbreak, and some huge rejoicing. There is mystery and lots of romance, and thanks to Gee, lots of comic relief. “Predestined” is a great follow-up to “Existence”, and I dare say I liked it better! Can’t wait to see what she brings us with “Ceaseless”! I will be really sorry to see this trilogy end...but I’m sure Glines will come up with some other story I can’t put down and more characters for me to fall in love with…althought Dank Walker will be a hard act to follow.
