About this ebook

A personal view of Dyslexia and associated conditions. How the disability affected my life from toddler to pensioner, exploring the ups as well as the downs. Hoping that my experiences may help other sufferers come to terms with and rise above their own problems and begin to appreciate the exceptional gifts that often come hand in hard with the disability.

Rosemary J. Peel

Hi, my name is Rosemary. My nationality is English although my parentage stems from Celtic roots. My main passion is writing but I also paint, mostly in oils. I am first and foremost a wife, mother and grandmother; previously a practical, down to earth business woman - now retired. Born dyslexic into an academically oriented family in the days before the disability was recognised, early years were not easy. But having to prove myself to myself, has stood me in good stead and toughened my character. I knew I could write - even if I couldn't spell. My fear of reading in public led to the development of a keen memory. My inborn love of the written word helped me to overcome my disability and eventually to become a mainstream published author. I am now trying my hand at e-publishing. My writings include adult fiction, astrological books, poetry and children’s stories. Although not as young as I used to be, I hope I still remain ‘young at heart', always able to hold up my hand to a firm belief in the magic of childhood - not the J. K. Rowling kind (although I adore both the books and films), but rather the wonderment of the Santa, Easter Bunny, Tooth Fairy years. I love children and equate to them, some may say because deep down I have never entirely grown up. To tell the truth, I hope I never really do. Besides the Facebook URL above I have another page under the name of Percy Prickles and Friends. This is where I showcase my e-books and update my readers with news and information.
