About this ebook

I was broken, numb to want and desire, but then he came along…

Three years after the tragic events of Anna’s sixteenth birthday which saw her boyfriend killed and her kidnapped by his sadistic murderer, she’s no longer the happy-go-lucky girl that everyone used to know and love; she’s now cold, hard and suffers from night terrors.

Carter is currently serving time for the murder of Jack–a conviction that Anna helped secure–but his retrial is coming up because some key evidence appears to have been tampered with.

Needing to ensure his daughter’s safety, presidential candidate, Senator Spencer, tasks in Ashton Taylor, a newly qualified SWAT agent, to guard the broken girl and keep her safe until the end of the trial.

For three years Anna has refused to feel emotion or pain. Can Ashton help her rebuild her life and finally deal with the grief of losing her childhood sweetheart? Will he be the one to make her see that life is, in fact, worth living and that not all men will hurt her?

Nothing Left to Lose is a sexy New Adult romance dealing with love, lust, loss and grief. First uploaded online, it surpassed 25 million reads before publication. This original edition combines part 1 (Guarding the Broken) and part 2 (Blurring the lines) into one novel of epic proportions!

I finished this last night. I had a love/hate thing going on with this book.

    So here goes.
Let's get to the Hate thing first: NO ONE IS THAT PERFECT! I just think tha guy, Ashton Taylor, is too perfect. He's too kind, too sweet, too protective, too 'feely'. That's not even a word but what I meant was, when reading a guy's POV, I'm used to reading and feeling little emotions because he's a guy! It may sound sexist, but guys just don't think too much about their feelings. Sometimes, I get more emotion from Ashton than from Anna.
Next, some scenes were just too sweet and too cliche. Another thing about this was there was a very critical, life-or-death scene, and they were kissing. I'm like, what the hell?! You're gonna die and you're kissing.
the secondary characters didn't do much. They're just there most of the time for display.
so, that's kinda it for the hate part.
Now, for the Love part: I love how the romance was built up until they realized their feelings for each other. I mean, sure, it took Anna 75% of the book before realizing her feelings but I was glad because it was genuine.
Also, I LOVED THE ACTION! The action part had my heart pounding! Damn, I need to read more books with kidnapping. LOL.
I REALLY WANT TO READ NATE AND ROSIE'S STORY!!! I jumped up and down when I read at the end that they're gonna have their own story. I kinda guessed it in the end when Ashton said that Rosie's moving closer to LA to find a job. Nate, a player, I'm so excited to see him knocked off his feet.

    That's about it!

This story started out strong very intense but after the plot is established it dragged repeating the romantic conflict over and over and I began skimming. It would have been better condensed to normal size book. Annabelle's boyfriend is murdered, she is abused by drug dealer and eventually SWAT graduate Ashton is hired as her bodyguard.

Honestly one of the best, most exciting, romantic, erotic books, I have read in a long time. I could hardly stay away. Made me laugh, cry, and yearn for that kind of love.

Fucking incredible! I loved how Ashton and Anna sounded, with their sweet N badass sides. Especially the way the couple played around with their jokes. It was just completely romantic, especially on their trips when everything got hot N heavy ;)

What a Super Long book. But it's worth the time. It's kind of twisted though.

The story line of this book was good and I admit to reading it to the end as I liked the characters but it was very painful to read at times with all the grammatical errors and misspelled words. How did this ever get into print? Has the author or her editor ever heard of spellcheck??

I loved this book. It took Ashton's sweet, stern, staying personality to bring Annabelle back from hell. I wouldn't have killed off Dean and Frank tough. I got to like them too much. I would have had one of them off for an emergency w an unknown sub (the sidekick dies) the other is shot.mSevere injuries and gets to act heroically but not death.

The premise of this book seemed great - I love the 'bodyguard and his charge' plots. The writing in Nothing Left to Lose did leave a lot to be desired, though. It lacked finesse, and was clunky and amateurish. I couldn't even make it past the first ten pages.

Major annoyance because for a book set in America it has a TON of British-isms that editing could have taken care of. The story was good but those were too distracting.
