About this ebook
Mike Lewis escapes New York and ‘goes underground.’ More precisely, he turns up in Juarez, Mexico where his brave saga continues in Spyglass. As his remarkable ability grows, he now sees eye-opening visions of the future through a spyglass. However, the visions have taken on a more intimate and surprising nature. Mike emerges as James Lewis and continues his awe-inspiring chronicles as he creates a new life there. Is he safe from those who relentlessly pursued him in New York? Find out in the next installment of The Vision Chronicles. Spyglass covers the next eight weeks in this slice-of-life paranormal thriller series. If you love jaw-dropping suspense with a dash of paranormal and a touch of romance, this is the series for you! (Not a standalone novel. Read Kaleidoscope, Book 1 first.)
5.0 out of 5 stars A secret talent. June 25, 2014 By Caitlin M Smith
This book was awesome. I was glued to my seat the entire time. I can’t wait to read the next book. I even want to go back and read the first one. I loved the way Walker explained Mike’s ability. How Mike broke his ability.
5.0 out of 5 stars I have a "Vision" that you will enjoy this book! @badwordplay June 25, 2014 By Owen Robinson
This is a very compelling and interesting thriller, with a fairly unique premise, as far as Mike’s ability to see the future. I really like the idea of the ability first materializing as broken and disjointed images, like if you were looking through a kaleidoscope, but after accepting his ability, he gets a kind of clarity, and the visions become much clearer. I really enjoyed reading Mike’s progression working through and past these issues, and ultimately coming to grips with the situation, and accepting his lot in life. There was very good character development for the main character, and considering this is a fairly long series, some kind of character growth is a good thing. Overall, I very much enjoyed this book, and will definitely be checking out the other Vision Chronicles books in the future.
5.0 out of 5 stars `Technically, he was also dead, and although he now had a chance to start over' June 16, 2014 By Grady Harp
Spyglass takes up where Kaleidoscope left off. Now Mike sees clear visions of the future through a spyglass... But now Mike is a new identity: `If anyone had told him that he'd lose his home, identity and that so much chaos and death would happen after revealing the kaleidoscope secret to someone, he wouldn't have believed them. How could he possibly believe something that bizarre?' As Mike accepts his new ability the spyglass provides visions of potential occurrences in a future that seems to suggest a life complete with a family. It is the overture to dreams and he must overcome dangerous hardships to realize them. With his new identity he struggles to realize the dreams set before him through his spyglass... to realize his dream and the woman and life for which he longs. The story ends in a rather treacherous situation - a perfect setup for Book 3! Take a breath and wait to see what happens next! Walker adroitly takes this fantastical image and turns it into a harrowing suspense novel. This is a fine blend of the esoteric/supernatural with the character elements of friendship, camaraderie, and love that makes the story rich indeed.

Walker, M.Msc., Reiki Master/Teacher writes both fiction and nonfiction books with a metaphysical and spiritual component. Chariss is a storyteller. She doesn’t use a computer program to write her books. Instead, she sits down at her keyboard and listens to her characters as they lead her through their stories. Those are the stories you read in her published books. Her fiction expresses a visionary message that illustrates growth in a character's consciousness while utilizing a paranormal aspect. Her nonfiction books share insight, hope, and inspiration. Even though Chariss also writes dark-fiction books about insanely dark topics, there is always an essential question of the abstract nature that gives a reader increasing awareness and perception. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Spyglass (The Vision Chronicles Book 2) by Chariss K. Walker is the second in a series of eight books. They are designed to be read in order. I found this to be a fast-paced, page turning story. I gave it five stars. The protagonist, Mike has a new identity. At the same time he needed it, sadly, his cousin was killed in a hit & run. His friend Joe in the FBI has assisted him in secretly moving to Mexico for a fresh start."The common denominator in the names of all relatives was James. I practiced saying the name softly on the balcony, 'Hola, I’m James Lewis… Hola, I’m Magin James Lewis, but my friends call me James… Hello, I’m James Lewis.' I laughed aloud at how ridiculous I felt and sounded. I recalled that Sensei Wakahisa insisted I practice the terrified voice until it sounded convincing. It was the successful practice of Step One that had saved Sarah and her children from certain death. With those memories to gird me, I no longer felt foolish. The practice was necessary." Once he arrived in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico, things moved fast. Within two days he purchased a home & a vehicle. He then had a vision of meeting an American woman. When he finally met Danielle Burgess, called Danny, he discovered he wanted her in his life even more. Unfortunately he learned that for the past six years she has had a stalker. "I watched closely as she tried to push the fear of Nate Potter away and regain control of her emotions. She was raw from the years of strain. My heart went out to her and with good reason—Nate Potter was a classic incompetent stalker and intimacy seeker."On their first date, Nate Potter showed up to spoil it. He was dispatched quickly by James, even though he fought dirty & threw dirt into James' face. Fortunately, all the training with the sensei came in handy. Nate left after a police car showed up & told him he was required somewhere else. James, Danny, Patty & Sands made plans to move into the mansion that Sands had abandoned years before. That's where she was building a dojo where they could all train.I received a complimentary copy from the author. That did not change my opinion for this review.
