About this ebook
From the New York Times bestselling author of Mrs. Lincoln'’s Dressmaker and the Elm Creek Quilts series comes a moving novel following a daughter’s search for her mother’s treasured heirlooms.
When precious heirloom quilts hand-stitched by her mother turn up missing from the attic of Elm Creek Manor, Sylvia Bergstrom Compson resolves to find them. From scant resources—journal entries, receipts, and her own fading memories—she pieces together clues, then queries quilting friends from around the world. When dozens of leads arrive via the Internet, Sylvia and her fiancé embark on a nationwide investigation of antique shops and quilt museums.
Sylvia’s quest leads her to unexpected places, where offers of assistance are not always what they seem. As the search continues, revelations surface about her mother, who died when Sylvia was only a child. As Sylvia recovers some of the missing quilts and accepts others as lost forever, she reflects on the woman her mother was, and mourns the woman she never knew. For every woman who has yearned to know the untold story of her mother’s life, and for every mother who has longed to be heard, The Quilter’s Legacy resonates with heartfelt honesty as it reveals what tenuous connections bind the generations, and celebrates the love that sustains them.

- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5I didn't like this book. The chapters about Eleanor were better than the stories about Sylvia. In fact, after reading a quarter of the book, I skipped the chapters centered on Sylvia. I found it boring, unexciting, and not believable.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Sylvia discovers that her mother's quilts are not in the attic of Elm Creek Manor but were sold years ago by her sister Claudia. With the help of the Elm Creek Quilters, she attempts to search for them. She and Andrew embark on a trip tell his children about their forthcoming marriage. Along the way they check out the tips that are pouring in from the Internet. The narrative alternates between past and present as it tells the story of Sylvia's mother Eleanor. This is probably one of my favorite installments in the series to date. For anyone looking for good, clean reads, I recommend this series.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Sylvia Compson discovers that her mother's quilts are not stored in the attic of Elm Creek Manor as she assumed, but were sold years ago by Sylvia's sister Claudia. As Sylvia searches for her mother's quilts with the assistance of her fiancé, Andrew Cooper, and the Elm Creek Quilters, she also seeks a connection with the mother she lost as a child. The chapters alternate between the present day and the life of Sylvia's mother, Eleanor Lockwood Bergstrom. It is a beautiful story of love, sorrow, friendship, regret, joy, and hope.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5As always, I love the quilting books. I read it and want to pick up a needle and start sewing quilts LOL! =)
