About this ebook

April, 1984. Winston Smith, thinks a thought, starts a diary, and falls in love. But Big Brother is watching him, and the door to Room 101 can swing open in the blink of an eye. Its ideas have become our ideas, and Orwells fiction is often said to be our reality. The definitive book of the 20th century is re-examined in a radical new adaptation exploring why Orwells vision of the future is as relevant as ever.

This book has been in my top five since I first read it a decade ago. There are often times in life, situations I end up in or troubling social issues in the news that make me think of this book. As the world evolves, globalization brings us closer together. Technology has made our home a very small place but it also leads us increasingly into the age of surveillance. The only difference between Big Brother and our current reality is that we monitor ourselves willingly.
