About this ebook

When Gina Ford, the daughter of a prominent Tennessee politician, goes missing from the University of Memphis a week after another girl was murdered on the same campus, police call in the FBI. Nick Hagar, married to his job as Special Agent in Charge, is assigned to the case, and when Gina’s body is found, her father demands justice.

Maddie Baxter is the forensic expert running DNA tests from the crime scene. When they come back without a match, Nick asks her to do a familial DNA run that yields a shocking result: the prime suspect is Adam Alexander, the very same guy who broke Maddie’s heart when she was in college.

But do scientific advancements tell the whole story? Strand of Deception offers romance, suspense, and a lively debate about the impact of DNA testing, for better or worse, on the United States justice system.

Things keep changing. Through it all, Maddie and Nick keep working to bring justice, but can their relationship go any further if Nick is not a Christian.Things have happened in Nick's life that have made him doubt his faith, also will Maddie be able to trust Nick? She has had her heart broken a couple of times. If you enjoy mysteries, and there are a few here, this is the book for you!I received this book through First Wild Card Book Tours, and Net Galley, and was not required to give a positive review.

I love Robin Carrol's books! She writes Christian romantic suspense in a fantastic way that has the reader holding their breath, wondering what's going to happen next. And she does it well, because the reader is in the dark about the culprit until the very last pages, too!A prominent politician's daughter goes missing a week after a student was killed on a TN college campus. Enter Maddie Baxter, forensics expert and Nick Hager, FBI special agent. Maddie and Nick had shared a brief date a few months previously but have not been in contact since. Now they must work together to find the perpetrator of this crime and another one, which has caused Maddie a ton of stress.Carrol's done her research well on this one (and her previous ones, too!) and the reader is not disappointed once with the details of both the FBI and the forensics angle of the story. I loved that part, too. Science does not lie, Maddie is fond of saying, but things look hairy for a while in that regard. This book moves along at a fast pace, making the reader feel they must finish it soon because they are eager to know the ending. However, as with all Robin's books, this reader also wants to read slowly to savor the book. This book ends the Justice Seekers series and I can't wait to see what Robin Caroll has in the works for her readers next!
